Customer Review: Looks and smells nothing like real incense...

This is the first ever review I've written, but I hope it will help someone out there. By way of background, I have been burning incense for over thirty years, now, including Frankincense and Myrrh, as well as many other Church varieties. I ordered this because the price was right, and the picture of the product looked authentic. I did read the one-star review, but since it was across a five-star review (claiming the scent was wonderful), I thought I'd take my chances. What a mistake! The product arrived in a pouch, with a "New Age" sticker on the front, and inside, LOTS OF BARK, or something that looked like bark. Yes, you read correctly: large (over 1" long) pieces of brown stuff, that smelled ok when you take a whiff, but Lord have mercy on us if you should burn the stuff! My 17-year old daughter ran to me, believing I had set the house on fire! Her description of the odor: burning rubber! I initially scoffed at her reaction (you know how dramatic teens can be), so I tried burning a small quantity the next morning. Same result: burning rubber odor throughout the house. The white pebble-like items may well be incense, but whatever the brown bark is, it does NOT burn, rather it turns black, and I assume that is what releases the burnt rubber smell.
Conclusion: I have returned the item as being defective, and will NEVER order it from this supplier (New Age) again!
