In my opinion, a back scratcher in a home is just about as essential as toilet tissue. We have all at one time used the familiar fork, spatula, wooden spoon, or wall, and it just never compares to something that is actually designed for the purpose. As far as this model, its pretty straight forward. About 18" long, solid enough to bear down some pressure on the hot spots, and just about indestructible unless you really abuse it. The only downside I noticed with these scratchers is the oft mentioned dullness in the other reviews. Mine was rather lack luster in that area too when I got it. I solved the problem but angling the scratcher just right on my grinding wheel, and shaving off some of the excess. Gotta tell ya folks, after I did that this scratcher was a whole new animal open for business. Just a little pressure on the itchy spot and you have a piece of heaven in your hands. If you decide to perfect the edge as I did, just remember to use caution and don't get carried away. The grinding wheel chews through bamboo effortlessly. If you don't have a wheel, you can use a regular flat file. Takes a little longer but ends up with the same results.
Back scratchers can be hard to find in stores, but easily available here on Amazon. I suggest stocking up here and dismissing a most common uncomfortable situation that your life you can certainly do without...

These Bamboo back scratchers are cut from mature bamboo, and are very strong and sturdy. The handle is a comfortable hand filling 1 1/2" wide, not a skinny stick like you'll find on other back scratchers. The handles are stiff, so the back scratcher won't bend away from your back when you're trying to scratch hard. Each is hand made, no two are identical. Bamboo is a fantastic material. Not only is it strong and durable, but since it is technically a type of grass, it is also very easy to grow and harvest in an environmentally responsible manner.
