I am currently a MA student and I purchased the 3M Littmann 2454 Lightweight II S.E. thinking it would be better than the stethoscope in the college book store. Sadly, I could not hear with it and I let my instructor and several classmates try it to see if I was the only one that had a problem hearing with the Littmann, they too could not hear and several were glad that they tried mine before they purchased a stethoscope for class. If you are going to spend $45 to $55 on a stethoscope perhaps upgrading to the next level of the Littmann brand would be better. At this time, I am still trying to find the right one for me. I only need it to take blood pressure, but I want one that I can hear on.

Littmann lightweight II S.E. This general purpose stethoscope is not only lightweight and easy to carry, but it also features a chest piece designed for better orientation around blood pressure cuffs and body contours. The tunable diaphragm conveniently alters between low and high frequency sounds without the need to turn over the chest piece. Features a single-tube design, rimmed nonchill diaphragm and bell, firm ear tips and two-year warranty.
