I am a student nurse and have a very slight hearing deficit. I was afraid of not passing some of my skills classes if I couldn't hear properly through my stethoscope. With the Littman Cardiology III, this is not a problem. The sounds coming through are distinct. There is no distortion. The ear pieces are quite comfortable and there are several different types of ear pieces in the box that you can use. I had heard Littmann was the best to get and so far, I have not been disappointed. The price is well worth the security of knowing you will not make any mistakes, due to muffled sounds, when taking vitals.Customer Review: amazing!

this is the same as the regular cardio III but in the all black "stealth" version. it looks really cool. make sure you put your name on it since someone else will probably think it's really cool also.
i like the reversible chest piece. i'll flip it over for peds, very slender patients or to listen to the carotids or even skull or eye bruits!! haha
this steth has great acoustics. last week i was able to appreciate a grade 1/6 murmur. that speaks volumes for this scope since i am by no means an experienced clinician at this point.

I originally bought this stethoscope my 2nd year in practice (family medicine). I recently lost it and thought I could get by with my old stethoscope - I couldn't. I couldn't hear anything, it didn't have dual heads (which I needed for peds and newborns), and the tubing was too short and stiff. I held out for a week and then ordered this replacement and paid extra for expedited shipping because I couldn't stand another day with the other one. In short, great stethoscope for family medicine. I have always used Littmann stethoscopes since I was in medical school. Highly recommended brand by all our doctors in the hospital. I have this type of stethoscope in navy blue and I wanted a plum color so I got another one. I am very happy with it. It is heavier, of course than the ordinary littmann steth. I like that I don't have to switch stethoscopes when I have a patient who is a baby and a teenager. Very good acoustics. I'm not a doctor, but I bought this for a girlfriend in med school at the time and it came highly recommended from a doctor. I know one thing that the recommending doctor suggested was that this has the pediatric attachment (or bell?) already on it. No need to buy a separate stethoscope or other pieces.
I got to test it out and I could hear my heartbeat clear as day, but I wouldn't have any comparison. Good price, nice materials/construction, overall good product.
