One of the tasks of everyday living is cleaning up messes. It's an onerous task, but somebody's got to do it and, in our household, I'm usually the one. As such, I've assembled a repertoire of cleansers and cleaning devices. One handy device is the "Scotch Btite No Scratch Scrub Sponge." My fianc? introduced me to these nifty little multi-purpose scrubbers and I've found them to be useful and effective in a wide variety of applications.
Basically, the "Scotch Brite" scrubber is a manufactured sponge, cut into a handy shape, with a tough, roughened scrubbing surface glued to one side. It can be used as a conventional sponge with one side or turned over to abrade tough, stubborn splotches. I use the pads coupled with some of my favorite cleaners, such as Windex or Soft Scrub, depending on the particular problem. The combination can work wonders.
The scrubber part of the pad is rough and provides good abrasion, but it's gentle enough to avoid scratching, as long as a gentle cleanser such as Soft Scrub is used. Thus I use it to wash dishes, scrub my marble counter tops, stovetop and floors. Teflon no-stick pots and pans are wonderful, but we all know that some things can stick and a Teflon surface can be easy to ruin. I've used these pads on some tough jobs with Teflon and there has been no apparent damage. I find the Scotch Brite pads to be of use in the kitchen, bathroom, garage and anywhere a mess needs to be cleaned up. I might add that we have two cats and that amounts to a certain amount of messy cleaning. Scrub, scrub. Wipe, wipe. Wipe, scrub. Scrub, wipe. This product is useful, effective and economical enough to be included in my "Household Products Hall of Fame" list.
