I agree with the other review, though I'm a 'small' female, so it is big (Think u need 'man hands' for this to work). It's NOT one-size-fits-all if you're me. By the time I adjusted it, it's very bulky, somewhat uncomfortable, and not much countoured for support, though it does immobilize everything from thumb to wrist. It is rigid enough that with the encompassing of the wrist, you can use it as an awkward thumb, but to sinch it down tight enough to do that (or feel like it's doing what it should) - it actually ends up being TOO tight... but to make it looser I'd lose support or immobilization. Also, it either completely covers my thumb, or cuts off circulation... Just not very comfortable no matter how I adjust it, and there is a lot of gapping inside the brace even when tight. Wasn't made for small hands/wrists... but it does immobilize if that's your ultimate goal.
*Update*
Turns out, putting 2 cut-off wrist cuffs from an old sweatshirt around my wrist under the brace - took care of the gapping issue (and the discomfort issue), while still keeping my thumb well immobilized. Having my thumb completely covered isn't a bad thing... that takes away the temptation to try and use it at the tip. It's still bulky, and annoying that I can't use my thumb, but I think that's more frustration with not being able to use my thumb than with the brace - it just takes some modifications and some getting used to. A sweat band was TOO thick, but the cuffs make for sufficient padding without constricting or making it uncomfortable some other way. I'm guessing 2 layers of socks or something would work too. :) I'm finally happily on the way to healing now - I'll prolly be wearing this for a few weeks, so...
