Customer Reviews of Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 OuncesCustomer Review: Fake perfume from seller of Designer Shop Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani For Men (Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 Ounces) via Amazon on November 23, 2008, and the seller is: Designer Shop.
This was the first time I purchased perfume from Amazon. I didn't know that even if the order is placed through Amazon, ordered item will come from different sellers. So, new buyers, keep an eye on WHO IS THE SELLER, take a look on the seller's review and make sure the seller is reliable before you place the order.
I had an unpleasant experience with Designer Shop. I didn't get my item during the estimated day: Nov 28 - Dec 3. It was 7 days late. That's still OK to me, as long as it arrives before Xmas as a gift to my husband.
HOWEVER, the item I got was not the one I expected. My husband has been using Armani Acqua Di Gio for more than 3 years, and he's very familar with the scent. The Acqua Di Gio from Designer Shop doesn't smell as same as the one he used to use. Moreover, the one from Designer Shop has strong alcohol smell, but the scent last very short.(I usually buy the perfume from mall. My friend told me there's an 50% off perfume deal on Amazon, then I took a risk this time).
I left a negative feedback to the Designer Shop, and I got the email from them the next day saying they would refund me. BUT, 14 days after their reply, I still NOT get the refund yet! I already email them back today, request them to refund me within 5 business days. If still no refund, I will file A-TO-Z complain.
I had to go to the mall to buy a bottle of REAL Acqua Di Gio the day after Xmas as a late gift for my husband.
I would not purchase any perfume from Amazon, at least NO from the Designer Shop. It's not worthwhile to get so many trouble and a fake stuff for 50% off price.
Customer Review: GREAT cologne, apparently BUY IN STORES Summary: 3 Stars
First, feedback on the reviews on here (a "thank you"), second a feedback on the actual product one is supposed to get (a huge thumbs-up).
First, the reviews for this cologne are EXACTLY why I read reviews before buying anything online. I want to sincerely say a big "THANK YOU" to those who ignored putting good stars and instead made their review/feedback be ABOUT THE PRODUCT RECEIVED. I was JUST about to buy this, since I DO always buy it at Macy's but saw it was much cheaper here, until I realized that the positive reviews were for the actual Acqua di Gio cologne one would GET and not for what was ACTUALLY received, and the NEGATIVE reviews were for what was actually received - the product provided by buying through Amazon. I am a HUGE fan of Amazon with most things, but this was an eye-opener to read that the ACTUAL "goods and services provided were not satisfactory." Makes a certain amount of sense, I guess. Be nice for Amazon to CLEARLY NOTE if they are using something other then their warehouse to ship a product from.
Second, I WOULD give a resounding five stars to the actual cologne you are supposed to get. I have been wearing it for a good seven+ years now. I actually and literally HAVE had females stop me in the street while downtown and around other places (like where I work) and either: told me I smelled great, asked what smelled so good, or asked what I was wearing. I'm not rich by any means, but the smell of this cologne is SO fresh - which I would say would be the key description of how the smell is - that the cost is worth it - AT A STORE, apparently.
Customer Review: Dollar Store Smell for a Designer Price Summary: 1 Stars
I use to buy $1 knock off of famous cologne from the Dollar Store. That is when I got hooked on the clean, refreshing, but not over powering scents. But of course the scents didn't last long. So I plunked down my money and got Gio, the most I ever paid. I was scared I would over do it, you know, take a bath in it type smell. You know, I got no reaction, no one knew I was wearing it, so on I sprayed on more, and more. My daughter has alergies, when I get happy with the Old Spice lets me know it. She couldn't smell Gio. I mean my wife had to stick her nose on my neck a half an hour later to smell it. Yeah, I don't want to gas out a room with too much, but still this is a joke. I don't know if it was cut with alchohol or what, but I think it has to be thinned out. Bottom line, it smells great as you mist it on, like the smell. I am going back to Old Spice. What I am looking for is that "you smell great" when I am sitting next to my wife, with Gio, eh, can't tell I used it. I am a loyal, and frequent Amazon customer, overall good value for money, timely deliveries, it's not their fault.
Customer Review: What you pay is what you get Summary: 2 Stars
I like about:
1. No shipping charge
2. The price is cheaper than Giorgio Armani and department stores
I do not like about:
1. The product is over its expiration date so the the smell is different and it does not stay long. I found out this after I received the package and noticed that the expiration date was removed (a cut on the package). I went to the store and bought another one. The sales told me the difference.
2. Amazon or the seller should state the fact so the consumer know the difference.
3. I felt deeply sorry for purchasing this product for my husband.
4. I did not bother to complain or return because I later found out that there were many negative reviews and they did not receive fair return/exchange.
Although the product is not a counterfeit and is much cheaper, I will not buy any perfume from Amazon unless Amazon start listing with clear statement like: 1. guarantee original, 2. past expiration date over 1 year, 3. sell by partner and no guarantee its quality.
Customer Review: Good, 'clean' men's 'fragrance'. Summary: 4 Stars
Ever notice that men's and women's 'fragrances' seem to be moving ever closer? This cologne (yeah, definitely a cologne) has a nice, sharp fragrance that is far away from Old Spice, Musk, and some of the earlier fragances when it was all called 'aftershave'. This doesn't smell 'medicinal' or 'fruity' or 'underarm spice scent compatible'. My wife and daughters decided this ought to be my 'go to' cologne, so I switched (from 'Musk' if you really want to know). The only quibble I have is that the price of this stuff, compared with my Grandfather's trusty Old Spice, is really high. On the plus side, I guess, a little goes a very long way. Note to self - don't get carried away in the morning. 2 squirts from the atomizer pump is plenty. The only other quibble I have is that, as with all 'atomizers' or 'misters', there's always going to be a little very expensive liquid left at the bottom of the bottle, that the pump just won't get out -- leading to heroic efforts to snap off the top and use the last of the container.
