Everyone knows what Advil's good for -- fever, pain, inflammation. Does it work? For me, the answer is an absolute yes! Within half an hour tops, I am pain free.
There are generics available. Why do I like the brand Advil caplets? Because they are small, smoothly coated, shaped just perfectly to go down so easily. Those generics just aren't as pleasant to swallow. If I were short on cash, I might choose generic; but for now, the benefits of the size, shape and coating are worth the cost. It may also be worth it for more elderly people who have trouble swallowing.
I prefer Advil to Tylenol because Advil helps with inflammation, which Tylenol doesn't. Advil also lasts longer than Tylenol, although there is an extended release version of Tylenol available. Advil can be more upsetting to the stomach, so take it with some food.
Don't take Advil if you have ulcers or have a bleeding disorder, are going in for surgery, are on blood thinners. Taking too much Advil can hurt your stomach or kidneys.
