This was my second purchase of an Alcohawk. An acquaintance borrowed my first one and never returned (so I guess she thought it was a good purchase too). It never gave me a bit of trouble. The second one I purchased however, gave a .32 reading after drinking a glass of wine, so it needed to be recalibrated. The company does recalibrate for a small fee. My main advice is don't lend this out :)Customer Review: works wonderfully

this item works wonderfully.now when we have parties nobody gets their keys until they are under the legal limit.we call them a cab if need be or a designated driver will take them home.this clears everyone conscience in the safety department and puts everyone at ease.would highly recommend to anyone who goes to a party or even out on the town.the life it saves could be yours.thanx..flashCustomer Review: Accurate

I have a breathalyzer installed in my car so I got this one to test myself before blowing into the one installed in my car. I have found it to be very easy to use and very accurate. I actually have a friend who is a policeman and he tested this device in comparison to his police breathalyzer and they were exactly the same. Works well, seems to be pretty accurate. If alot of people are going to be using it, you might want to buy a bag of the mouthpieces, they are pretty darn cheap. Takes a 9 volt battery and is easy to use. Also comes with a car charger so if the batteries die, you can still use it. The detector... not the car. I bought this product because it was used on me by a police officer. I passed (thank god) but didn't realize how close I was to the legal limit. That second glass of wine with dinner can sneak up on you. It comes with a handy 12 volt power source. Now I always check my BAC before driving no matter how safe I feel.
