I found myself with a new job and a new car out of college. The bars and parties were far away (I still live in the same city I went to school in) and I found myself driving when I felt fine, but wasn't sure whether I'd blow over the limit. I bought this thing and put it in my car. I blow in it every time I even consider driving.
The product itself has worked well for me so far. It's easy to use and takes around 30 seconds to warm up. I can't really tell how accurate it is, but it keeps me out of the car when I'm over the limit and that's all I care about.

So you are sitting at the bar, having a few drinks. Then it's closing time, and you have to leave. So you test your BAC, and you test at .038. Wait a minute, I had 4 beers, and I'm hammered? You see, this device is designed for people who don't mind sitting in their cars for at least a half an hour-just to get an accurate reading. See, this device doesn't work unless all the alcohol is absorbed into your system, and your mouth is free of any hint of booze. So if you don't mind watching the snow fall in a parking lot, then go for it. Otherwise, don't touch this joke.Customer Review: Great for the price!

Well, everyone has their own opinion about this and here is what I think:
Good- very compact, stays consistent, calibrates fairly quick
Bad- eats up batteries (like crazy!), only comes w/ 3 mouth pieces, seems fragile
This is the only breathalyzer I have ever owned, so I dont have much to compare to... BUT... my friend has a $150 dollar one (cant remember the name), and mine and his gave the same results... so, take that for what its worth.
I have had this one for about a month... still works like a charm.

Bought this after trying a friend's at a house party. It works pretty well and lets you know if you are over the legal limit or not. Other reviews have commented on the time it takes to recycle so that another person can use it. This is true, but for the cost, I thought it was a reasonable accommodation to make. I have only used it a few times (I'm not the partygoer I was when I was younger :-)) but have been very satisfied with it and would recommend it. I gave it 4 stars only because of the 60-90 second delay required for another person to use it.Customer Review: Broke when I needed it.

As soon as we received this, my teenaged son tried it as a joke, and it worked perfectly. A few days later, my teenaged daughter found it in my purse and also had to try it. Again, it worked perfectly.
Last night, when I needed it to work, it didn't. It counted down from 60 to 41, went straight to zero, and the red light came on. A second later, it beeped and turned itself off. I tried replacing the batteries, and it did the same thing again.
What good is a breathalyzer that doesn't work when you need it?
