The Alcohawk Slim Digital Alcohol Breath Tester is easy to use but there are too many things wrong with the unit. The unit is very sensitive; after waiting the instructed amount of time after drinking (30 minutes) I used this device and after 1 beer the device said that I was WAY over the limit (.18). It takes 60 seconds (minimum) for the device to calibrate. Also, the device is way too large.
I would not recommend this item. I have had better success with smaller units that do not require mouth pieces.

Since it's only been a month since I received my Alcohawk Slim, I can't vouch for its longivity. However it has performed as advertised when used about a dozen times by myself, family and friends. I like the compact size and the retracting mouthpiece. Also it is available at a great low price. As for its accuracy, I have no way to calibrate it and therefore don't know if it is giving correct readings although they seem to be reasonably in the ballpark. Based on my experience so far I can recommend the Alcohawk Slim.Customer Review: Avoid AlcoHawk at all costs

We've owned several AlcoHawk testers, and can honestly say they're junk. The big "SN" message appears often when it's trying to calibrate, meaning you have to start over and wait... and wait... and wait. Often it never successfully calibrates. We sent one back for repair, and AlcoHawk's response was: "We can't repair it, but can offer you 10% off on the purchase of a new one." This company either needs to get their technology together, or give up making breath testers. Avoid at all costs!!Customer Review: This thing works great!

I highly recommend buying this unit if you are thinking about getting a self breathalizer tester. I was actually thinking about buying a couple more and handing them out to the drunks at the bar in hopes they might not drive home drunk anymore. Fat chance right? lol. But, I know I wont be driving drunk anymore with this thing handy. It is very accurate and I always know weather or not I am good to drive. Even if I haven't been drinking! This little gadget was the perfect thing we needed for our time in wine country. We did not have any issues with waiting too long for calibration (always less than 60 seconds). And we used it a lot during our vacation - never ran out of batteries, etc. So, it totally did the job. It was a lot more fun than I expected to know what your and your friends' blood alcohol level is. Plus it kept us safe. I would definitely recommend this product.
