Alli definitely does what it promises - it makes it so your body doesn't absorb 25% of fat. The prescription dose is 120mg and that keeps your body from absorbing 33% of fat, so you can take 2 for slightly better results. If your already eating well and exercising it'll speed up weight loss a little, how much depending on how many calories you eat from fat (the more the better alli can help). Or, you can just eat a little more while still loosing weight at the same rate. I'm already thin and I stay on a very calorie restricted diet, alli allows me to eat a little more to keep me sane without gaining weight. If your gaining weight, it'll make you gain slightly slower although expect bad "treatment effects". The treatment affects depend on how much fat you eat but shouldn't be bad at all if your eating healthy, I dont really feel any eating 800-1100 calories. On the days you allow yourself to indulge, just be careful (dont pass gas if your not at the toilet) and you'll be fine. If your constantly feeling more than just mild treatment effects, it probably means you aren't eating as well as you should be. I tried it for a month. Because it was approved by the FDA I felt safe trying it. The side effects are awful. My hiking was put on hold for a month because I couldn't stray too far from a bathroom. This product gives you gas but not just gas - a disgusting oily, yellow discharge also. You know that feeling you have when your body is telling you it needs to get rid of solid waste, well you start losing your ability to control these muscles, and are lucky if you make it to the bathroom on time. I lost 3 lbs in three weeks (1 lb./week) which is not bad but then I gained the 3 lbs back and an additional 2lbs. Can't understand it because I am watching what I eat. This product causes too much distress in your body so be warned before trying it. It seems my grandmother was right. Just exercise and the weight will come off. Ah, excuse me, I have to run to the bathroom again. Arrgh!Customer Review: I was skeptical.

I was skeptical. Not that it wouldn't do what it was supposed to do but that I would be able to take the capsules & live with the "treatment effects". Well, so far so good. It's been over a week and I haven't had any problems. I can see the effects of the treatment in the toilet bowl but haven't had any "anal leakage", "greasy gas", uncontrolled expulsions, etc. This is meant to help you, not do it for you. I've been careful not to eat too much fat but did splurge with a little ice cream & a brownie and other than a little more "pizza grease" floating in the toilet, no problems. I have not doubt, if you go out and eat something deep fried, you'll pay the price but for normal low fat eating with an occaisional, reasonable treat, it seems to be okay.Customer Review: Just the extra push I needed!!

I was not extremely overweight, but I had 15-20 "vanity" pounds that just werent budging. I run 5x a week and also work with a personal trainer and weight train 3x per week. After the first 2 mths of training and the initial weightloss, I hit a platau. Ali helped push past that and now I lost more weight than I imagined I could and Im actually back in my size 3s! And I feel GREAT! Ali FORCES me to think about my food choices. I eat out alot so I was consuming tons of hidden fat and calories. Now, before we go to a resturant, I research the menu and find the healthiest choice. And I pass on the high fat items. I really would recommend this product for people who lack self control when it comes to eating.Customer Review: Not happy at all. Total waste of money!

I bought Alli based on the positive reviews on this site. Granted I have within normal weight range and due to holiday bingeing, need to lose maybe 5 pounds. I live in Asia and had to wait 2 weeks for ALLI to arrive from the US. Couldn't wait to tear open the package. I took 3 per day, as per instruction, and had to wait more than a week before I experience any gas. To date, it's been close to 1 month and I still have not experienced the "oily stools or embarrassing bath room runs". I do keep a very low fat diet but still I am sure there is some fat in what I eat!
I don't know why I am so resistant to ALLI but nothing, zilch effect!
