agree with another commenter that you can buy frozen acai pulp in many stores in latin american ethnic neighborhoods for about $5 for 100 grams (about 4 ounces). the pulp is identical to the pulp/fruit that I've had in Brazil (have traveled there every year since 1996.
It is likely that the frozen pulp that you buy in stores is not organic, as this brand is, but is it really more toxic than any other fruit imported from chile, brazil, ecuador, etc? also, don't know how the seller can claim that the frozen pulp has no health benefits - most frozen fruit will retain many (although not all) of the benefits of fresh fruits.
tip to those drinking shakes made from the frozen pulp -
add a few teaspoons of sugar - the fruit is naturally bitter. In brazil, 100 grams is mixed in a blender with about 10 medium size stawberries, a quarter of a banana, and about an ounce of peanuts, as well as 4 or 5 tespoons of sugar, then ground in a blender with a handful of ice to make a tasty smoothie that is sold in all of the ubiquitous juice bars and bakeries found in every block in Rio de Janiero.

I found this product quite amazing. As I drank my Acai juice, I found myself becoming more alert and spunking. People were even noticing my new attitude. Although my energy level did not go up much and that is due to my present pain killer, I lost 10lbs. I was not hungry or craving unnecessary junk foods. I just wanted to eat healthier. It is funny, but I just did. It was changing my whole outlook and way of thinking. See I suffer from depression, so I am an emotional eater, but with the Acai juice I just wasn't doing that anymore. I would take my 1oz in the morning and the 2nd 1oz in the evening mixed in a smoothie and was quite satisfied. I also added the Acai and Raspberry juice from Tropicana Pure and WOW what a powerful antioxidant these two product became. You can find it in the local markets. Now, with the acai alone, please make sure you intake plenty of water, that is what makes the antioxidant effect work much better. I did a lot of research online before purchasing any of the acai berry products. This is my first experience with it, and I wanted to avoid products that were not so pure, and simply capitalizing on the current acai craze. I have been in physical therapy for a couple of months for pain in my neck and shoulders, which was diagnosed as arthritis. Despite the therapy, muscle relaxers, and inflammatory drugs, I had resigned myself to living with some amount of pain all the time. Just taking this acai pulp puree for a few days now, not even a week, my pain is noticeably lessened to almost none. I also have more energy and am more alert. I think this is a good product. I guess if you needed something for constipation, this would be good, but as far as it helping joint and/or muscle pain, it did nothing. Maybe you have to take it for more than 32 days, which is about all you get in the bottle, but at over $40 a bottle, I can't afford to see. It tasted OK, wasn't hard to take. I did take it every day, never missed one day. Had to make sure I took it in the evening, or would have spent the day in the bathroom. Don't know when I'll stop falling for the misinformation in an attempt to feel better. The product was beautifully packaged, well packed for shipment, and was delivered very quickly with just regular shipping. Just didn't help me.Customer Review: the acai ripoff continues

Folks, you can get frozen fresh acai pulp at any Latin American or Brazilian or Portuguese market for around $5 a pound. I bought some today right here in Massachusetts -- $4.79 for 400 grams. Thaw it and toss a bit in a smoothie, and boom -- magical superfoodly goodness.
Or maybe it's just a berry that's roughly as good for you as wild blueberries (which is to say, very good for you, but not some sort of magic cancer-blasting cure-all). Either way, this here product looks like a crazy ripoff to me. Do some research before you cough up the big bucks.
