There are many brands of pomades available on the market. Some less expensive than this brand. What I like about this brand is that you don't have to use alot because it is very thick. It adds a nice shine to your hair and has a very pleasant odor.
If you've never used pomade before, it has been used by men for decades to style their hair. Your grandfather probably used a variation to slick back their hair. This one is water-based, so it will shampoo right out. The pomade differs from the fiber in that it leaves your hair with a shine. If you want hold, but no shine, you should check out American Crew Fiber.
The price here is much cheaper than any hair salon where you'd normally have to get it. The jars come shrink-wrapped to prevent accidental opening during shipment.

I have been using this product for at least for a few years and I love it!! I love the way it styles my hair and the way it looks with this product. For my hair, this product is far superior than any of the over the counter styling gels.
What I did not like was the price of $16.00 at my local drug store. I cringed every time I bought it, but I liked the results enough to where I did buy it begrudgingly.
Then I came across a discount toiletry store at a local flea market where the product was priced at $11.00. The only problem was that you had to catch them when the shipment first came in and buy everything they had before they sold out.
Then I came across Amazon.com with their auto shipping and a price tag of less than 10.00 and it's delivered to my door. I am a customer for life!! Keep the pomade coming!!

I've used a lot of different gels and hair sprays that have made my hair feeling all gunky or crispy or flakey and just plain fried. After going to a niec salon my barber recommended some pomade. I picked this up along with the Crew medium hold spray gel and WOW my hair looks and feels the best it ever has! I now swear by this combo I have thick black strait hair so I always have to put some sort of gel in it, but the pomade lets me style it to my liking as well as make it nice and shiny and the same brand of spray gel acts like hairspray to secure the hold. After 7 hours from this morning my hair still looks awesome the style holds and yet my hair is crazy soft unlike gel where it would look fried and crispy from the crappy gel wearing off. I've used American Crew Pomade since 2003 and still love it. I'm on my 4th or 5th one already. Since 2003, I decided to give other hair styling products a chance and have found nothing that compares. After you style your hair, the pomade dries and is not remotely sticky, it holds the shape you molded it into, and it also has a lovely shine to it. Even though it holds the shape you styled it into, it is not hard like some gels or other products out there. You can still run your fingers through your hair and maintain the shape and it's still soft while doing its job.Customer Review: Great Product 5 stars; Amazon = 1 star

Great product but buy somewhere else. It costs $5 to ship this, ok, no problem. That's half the sale price but whatever. Then it takes over two weeks to get it. It's 4 oz. Yes 4 oz. And when I received it 1/2 of it was melted from having been in the mail so long.
I love the product. It's one of the only things that works on my hair. And I've tried a bunch of products. But buy this somewhere else.
2 week shipping for 1/2 the sale price is unacceptable.
