Customer Review: Great Product for Natural Sinus Relief

Seems the older I get-the more my sinuses bother me. My sinuses are affected by dust, pet dander and airborne allergens outdoors. Ive tried all the prescription & over the counter drugs and dont like the side effects. Ive purchases air purifiers, air cleaners, ionizers ....you name it-I bought it. I saw Neti-pot on Oprah with Dr Oz and thought, "what the heck-Ill try it." Used 1/4 teas Kosher salt mixed with tepid water in the pot (be sure to use a NON IODIZED SALT that doesnt irritate your nasal passages-Kosher salt is recommended). FInd the perfect 'tilt' of your head over the sink to allow the saline solution to flow thru nasal passages to cleanse-relax and breathe thru your mouth-I promise you wont drown!
Wow, I can breathe again! This will become a daily ritual like brushing my teeth. Great product! By the way, another company, Naso...(something) makes a plastic, unbreakable, pot which is great for travel.

This little Godsend is ideal for nasal irrigation. I first became aware of it on May 22, 2007 when Dr. Oz had a guest do a demonstration with the Neti Pot on the Oprah! show. When I saw what it was capable of doing, I went out and bought one that same evening. This product is ideal for relieving sinus pressure/sinusitis; allergic rhinitis and any other reason for nasal blockage.
The Neti Pot is simple to use. You fill it with 1 cup of lukewarm water; a 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized salt and stir until the salt dissolves. You then fill the freshly washed pot. Insert the spout into one nostril with your head tilted to one side. You will be amazed at the amount of nasal drainage.
You refill the pot and repeat the process on the other side. Be sure to wash your pot out after each usage. I love my Neti Pot and cannot imagine how I managed without it.

I can't compare this neti pot with others, as this was the only one they sold near me, so I bought it. I can say, though, that this is the best purchase I ever made health-wise. As a person with chronic sinus/mucous problems, I found that I needed to use this pot three times a day. Along with the salt, I sometimes add one drop of GSE. Once my sinuses have healed somewhat, I hope that I will only need to use it once a day. If I am exposed to a lot of pollen, or have to make a trip to the mall, I clear my sinuses after I get home. What surprised me is that my headaches have subsided to a great degree. I've also gone on a low carb regimen. I'm wondering if that may have been one of the reasons for the constant inflammation and mucous production I had. At any rate, this little pot does it's job. I think I would have preferred that it be a bit larger, but you can't have everything.Customer Review: Best.neti.ever.

I tried a stainless steel version of a neti pot Stainless Steel Neti Pot for Sinus Congestion (Ayurvedic JalNeti) before moving to this one. The metallic twang was just ICKY, beyond the whole "I'm flushing goop out of my head at a startling rate" variety of ICKY.
This heavy-duty ceramic model is great. It's glaze is nice and smooth, you can throw it in the dishwasher and be confident it's actually getting really clean, and I've dropped it on my hard ceramic floor and no chips or cracks.
Because it's truly inert, unlike the stainless steel types, you don't deal with any nasty after taste. The only part I wish were different is the size, the stainless one was about one pint, this is half that. Still, it works very well, is comfortable and easy to use.

I've used this particular Neti pot for over a year now (since seen on Oprah) and it's completely solved my hayfever allergies which used to really mess with me each year. I like the D-shaped opening which reduces, but does not eliminate, dumping water in my ear when I tip it up too fast. It took a while to get the salt ratio and temperature right, but once I did, it was very pleasant ever since. Be sure to get the pure Pharmaceutical grade non-iodized salt without any additives. I mix it with quite warm tap water in a 2 cup measuring cup which gives me two pots worth for each side. Mixing it in one batch saves time and increases consistency. For travel though, I use the RhinoHorn because it's plastic so it's light and won't break. But, for home use, I like the ceramic one better and only use it. For the price and design, this one is a winner in my book.
