Customer Review: Warning - Product Picture and Description does not match the model number
Summary: 2 Stars

I purchased this product (Andis 21420)and the product that was shipped to me is not the same as what's shown in the picture. Also, the description is different. I called Andis Headquarters and they confirmed that the image displayed on Amazon does not match the product number and the description is wrong as well. If you order this product you will be shipped the product displayed if you look up "B00063MRN4" on Amazon.com - it's a different color and the switch is even different on the clippers. Also, the clippers you will receive will be "Pro Animal" clippers, not "Pro Pet" clippers, and there is a difference. Please call Andis Headquarters before you make your purchase. I haven't had a lot of experience with these clippers yet, but I am disappointed that I did not receive the clippers I was expecting (the black one displayed in the picture). The Amazon advertisement is very confusing/misleading.

Customer Review: Cockapoo with double thick coat
Summary: 5 Stars

I was sharing my clippers which are also Andis with my dog, but I had to keep stopping and constantly oiling them. When I got this you should have seen my girlfriend's eyes when this went right through his double mixture coat. When he swims you literally squeeze out a gallon of water from him, and still these clippers go right through him. The blade that comes with it (I believe a #10) works really well, but as others stated is very short. Since this haircut was the first one since the end of summer I went with it and filled a garbage can with his fur(oiled only twice). I did order other blades but they don't seem too work as well, and I think that it is the blades and not the clippers.

Changing the blades and cleaning it are so easy I am ready to start sharing with him again, and getting rid of my other clippers.

Customer Review: Very Pleased
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a medium wired haired mutt, and several cats, one a super long hair. I struggled for years with a cheap clipper that I had purchased at Walmart. This cuts about 20 times as well, and I am not exaggerating. 50 times as well. A million times as well. Now my long hair cat from hell does not send me to the emergency room for stitches after attempting to cut her hair. I deliberated on whether to get the 5 or 7 FC blade as well. I chose the 7FC, and think that is the sensible choice...you really probably need something other than the 10 supplied with the unit. The blade guards are useful with the 10, however I would not advise cutting the entire animal that way. Lastly, this unit is the same as the other unit with the steel 10 blade, for all practical purposes. Andis verified this to me. I am a very happy customer.

Customer Review: Solid Product, Happy Cocker Spaniel!
Summary: 5 Stars

I own a Golden Cocker Spaniel, and anyone who has ever tried to groom a Cocker Spaniel will know that their coat is not for the faint hearted, its thick and really tough to groom. I previously bought a "cheaper" Andis kit - the one with all the extra attachments, DVD and non-removable steel blades for around $30, well in a nutshell it was a bad move - it literally took hours of frustration for me and my dog. I decided this is not fair for either of us so I purchased these Andis 21420 with the detachable Ceramic blades for around $60 here on Amazon. FANTASTIC!! they cut like a hot knife through butter. There is minimal heat generated and so long as you clean the blades after use and apply the oil you will be happy. Bottom line my advice is spend an extra $20-$30 and you will not be sorry. These are solid, hardworking clippers!

Customer Review: Still a new user - so far it is quite nice
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this clipper to replace a small cordless trimming I used for years on my Golden's feet. I have only used it a few times but it seems to work quite well and I have not had any problems. It is a little awkward as I was used to a smaller trimmer so I am am learning how to hold and manuever it and I will get more comfortable using it with time. The dogs love the quiet motor and the ceramic blades don't get hot that fast. I trim two feet and let it cool while I use a thinning shears so no worries on heat.

I had to purchase the cermanic 40 blade for the tight areas and it works quite well, no clogging from fur. It is easy to clean with the blades that pop off. I would definitely recommend it for first time users. Wish it was a little "slimmer" which would make it easier to hold for the fine work.
