I have a Bichon with *short* hair that I keep that way, and I do not use a clipper on his head. The combs melted, and without them, the blades dulled, and they go out of line really easily. They are frustrating to put back on after cleaning, too.
Spend a few more bucks and get a better brand. Just because there's a paw print on it doesn't mean they're meant to clip a dog.

The Andis Deluxe 15 piece pet clipper kit is anchored by at powerful pivot motor clipper that has an adjustable high-quality stainless steel blade. This unit has 4 times the cutting power of a comparable magnetic motor clipper. For added comfort and versatility, the unit has a anti-slip lower housing and an 8 foot power cord. Included in the kit is the clipper, a storage case, an instructional DVD, 8 attachment combs (1/16", 1/8", ?", 3/8", ?", ?", 1", and a blending comb), stainless-steel shears, a blade cleaning brush, lubricating oil, and a blade guard.
