Customer Reviews of Andis 67095 1-Inch Ceramic Clamp Flat Iron

Customer Review: Just as good (if not better) than the rest!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have straight hair that is slightly wavy if I don't blow dry it. I had never even thought about using a straightning iron until I went away on a girls weekend and my friend had one. I tried it and it made my hair so shiny and extra straight and I was in love! I went out and bought a metal plate iron and never knew any different. Fast forward two years later, another girls weekend. My friend had a Chi and I had heard that ceramic was better but never understood why. I used hers and the ceramic just glides so smoothly through your hair! She told me hers cost $150 and I started on a mission to find it cheaper. I ran across the Andis a week ago on Amazon. It was marked down to $15 and it was shipped free, so I figured I would try it. WOW! I turned it on, it was hot in an instant and those ceramic plates glide right through my hair like it cost $150 bucks!! On top of that, unlike my friend's chi, it has two soft rubber spots near the top to put your fingers so you don't burn them, and it has an adjustable heat dial! So my $15 iron is actually better! It appears to be built well and is a nice compact size. I plan on buying one or two spares next time they go on sale. If you are looking for a great ceramic iron at a even better price, then don't hesitate to get the Andis!!

Customer Review: Gets hot!
Summary: 4 Stars

My hair is naturally straight, but that's not what I use this for. I have been looking for a good quality, fairly priced straightener so I could curl my hair with it. I have heard curling your hair with a straightener makes your curls last longer and seeing as how cheap and how many good reviews there were about this curler, I decided to give it a try. I tried it out and my curls in fact lasted all day! As long as your hair is combed out this straightener runs through smoothly. Though sometimes a few strands of hairs get caught at the ends of either clamp, it's nothing really big to worry about. The only thing about this straightener though, and many have already mentioned, is that it does get really got. It goes up to the heating temperature of 30 on the heating dial and though I can't convert what that is into fareinheit, even at just the heat setting of 10 you could get burnt. Though all straighteners get hot of course this one with even a low setting gets hot so just be careful with your fingers! Though it could be a good thing since it would be worth your money!
Overall I love this straightener, my first straightener and I would definitely recommend this product.

Customer Review: Not too shabby
Summary: 5 Stars

I was instructed by a friend to purchase the Chi flat iron. But, I decided that since I was new to flat irons, I'd go with one of the more reasonably priced models. This one definitely is a good buy, and provides the most bang for the buck. It smooths and straightens very well, giving my fine, bendy hair a sleek look. Before I discovered the awesomeness of this flat iron, I would just blow dry my hair, straightening it as well as I could with a big round brush. It was ok in the morning, but throughout the day, my hair would frizz and develop a big flip out like "Ramona Quimby, Age 8." (if anyone remembers what her hair looked like on the cover of this Beverly Cleary book). But after I started using the Andis flat iron, my hair is a million times better. Not only is it sleek and smooth, but it stays that way even if it's a humid day. No more Ramona Quimby look. I guess you could say that it changed my life. I also would mention that I can go longer between haircuts with this flatiron b/c it makes my hair more manageable even when my style is getting overgrown. I would definitely recommend this product. Go buy it.

Customer Review: You get what you pay for
Summary: 3 Stars

It's an ok flat iron for the price and it does have some perks that you won't get with many other flat irons in this price range, but it doesn't last very long. If you don't really flat iron more than once in a blue moon, then this would be ok, but if you plan on using it more than 1x a month, spend a little more to get a better iron.

Pros
- heats up quickly
- swivel cord
- simple swivel button allows for easy closure
- temperature control
- really light and comfortable to use

Cons
- plating wears off pretty quickly. I had it for about 5 months, used it on average every two weeks and ALWAYS btw 5 and 10 for the heat setting (around 200F) so I was expecting it to last a bit longer since the plates weren't super hot and I wasn't using it more than 2/3 times a month. Now the plating has started to wear off so I just bought a flat iron with 100% ceramic plates instead of a ceramic coated one.
- the lights don't work the way they're supposed to
- the temp may fluctuate while using it

Customer Review: Works well. especially for the price

I got this from Walmart not really knowing what to expect because I read good reviews but it was only $15 (our walmart was no longer going to stock them so I got the last one for $10!). Here's what I've noticed:
> for anyone how has used a high quality straightener, you'll noticed that the ceramic plates are not as smooth. They are still smoother than the gold flat irons, so don't fret. It doesn't pull my hair like my old one. So that's an improvement.
> Good location of the buttons. Some of the more expensive straighteners have button on the front of the handle and I'm always accidentally pushing them. I also liked the "ready" indicator.
> Finally, yes it does straighten my hair. Better than my old one. But I don't have very difficult hair anyway so it was on the medium setting (10ish). I did straighten my curly-haired friend's hair and I think it got straighter as well. I had a 2" gold-plated Vidal Sasoon previously and I wanted to get ceramic plates.

It's perfect for my needs!
