Even though this product comes with attachments for cutting different lengths of hair (as well as a fairly close shave without the attachments), they don't work for cutting hair if you want it longer than 1/2 inch. I took my 30+ year-old American-made Wahl clippers apart and fixed them. Now I have what I realy need. I'll keep the new Andis clippers for when I want to remove hair completely or almost completely. I HAD problems with razor bumps and tried a few different products. I have been using Anids now for a over a year and i can tell you my razor bump problems are history.
Like some reviewrs have posted, the unit does get a bit hot, but i prefer the unit to get hot and still deliver a great close shave, than those other products that dont get hot and have razor bumps to deal with afterward.
This is a great product.

These clippers/shavers work well. I use them to dry shave with and they cut pretty close with no irritation. One thing I must mention is that right out of the box, they dont cut that close. Atleast not close enough for me. They can be adjusted with a screw driver, good eyes and a steady hand! It might take you two or three times to get them just right so they dont feel like they are scratching you.Customer Review: Shakes too much

It makes my hand numb after a short time. Otherwise it works fine.
Also, it seemed to me that the package had been opened before, which for a personal product like this is kinda disgusting. I just received another product from amazon (a notebook cooler) and that one was definitely opened beforehand! What is happening with amazon? One more opened product and I am done with amazon.

I am a black male who get razor bumps from shaving with razors. I have fewer razor bumps than I ever had before with other trimmers. I have used 2 other trimmers from Andis and I think this one is the best one yet. I purchased the trimmer and they are the best pair I have ever used. I would strongly recommended for those like me that get razor bumps. Plus the price is low.
