I like GSL's Sugar Balance glucose capsules.
GSL Sugar Balance - All Natural Diabetic Supplement
For some dumb reason they stopped making the easy to swallow 250mg version and now make only a 1700mg and LARGER horse sized planet of a capsule. The ridiculous thing is literally over three quarters of an inch long. But I find no competing product worthwhile. Writing to them was pointless.
What to do?
Well this splitter makes a perfect whack half way that does the trick.
I'd like for it to do fourths but on this capsule, it didn't handle that task.
If your hand is weak you can still succeed halving very hard pills with this.
Glad it is around.

I have to cut Prevacid 30mg tablets in half for my infant son who takes 15mg once a day. The tablets crumble very easily. I originally purchased the Pill Crusher/Splitter with Cup and Storage Compartment sold on Amazon, but the pill still crumbled when I used it. I started to give it a bad review, then thought that maybe this tablet was just "unsplittable". So I decided to buy one more pill splitter, just to test my theory. I bought this one and it cuts the Prevacid tablets wonderfully. Unlike the first splitter I bought, the pill stays still while cutting and is cut cleanly in half without crumbling. It's wonderful! This product works as advertised and is very simple to use. The slot that holds the pill is made of a material that holds the pill tight, which allows you to place the pill and get a good cut everytime. The safety guard is a simple thick rubbery piece of plastic that slides in front of the blade. It's simple, but is effective. Just about anyone can use this device without trouble.
The hinge is made of nothing but plastic and after some use it has started to squeak. The design makes me think this product may not last more than a couple of years, but that is just my initial impression after 2-3 months. With that said, I'm very happy with the product and recommend it over just about any pill splitter on the market hands down!

The title says it all. I bought some, oddly enough, through the on-line catalog from which I also buy pet supplies. The model they have now is different, so I went to Amazon, which had the real McCoy. They are efficient, especially handy for people on blood thinners (they have a blade guard,) which I didn't think of at the time, and do an excellent job no matter the size or thickness of the pill involved. I bought more than one again - just in case, but also see how they could make wonderful gifts.
Service was superb. They were here before I could blink. Thank you, Amazon, for putting me together with the seller, Rock Ridge.

The blade guard is a a piece of plastic that is supposed to slide to cover the blade when opening to insert a pill but it binds and then it is hard to open and is just plain annoying. I (try and) do a months supply for my wife whose hands shake so that if I am out of town she doens't need to do it her self. Maybe it gets jammed trying to do too many too fast. I removed the blade guard in order to get the job done, but now the kids can't help out. Also, it doesn't give the cleanest break and often one piece is noticeably larger than another, which with a small pill does concern me about the actual size of the dose.
