My family has gone through five of these. We learn slowly and they are quite cheap.
Each one has lost the grabbing suction cups.
It can pick up small light items.
I tried to turn my computer on and it could not depress the push button.
I wanted my dictionary. It is a small paperback. I grabbed the Gopher and went for it. One side sprang open quite dramatically. The other just dropped its cup. Even duct tape could not save that one.
A tiny screw runs between the grabbing tension rods and into each suction cup. That screw is pulled apart when the grabber closes. It lasts longer than it should, based on such a poor design.
Buy one with a simple design.

I am very short (5 ft) with tall kitchen cabinets and believe me this helps. I like that you can fold it to put it away and takes up less space. I like the rubber tips on the end. Although, I like it, I do have three complaints, which is why I gave it 4 stars. One is it does not hold too much weight, about a regular sized can of soup is the most it holds. Second, the grip end needs to be wider to wrap around items other than a can of soup. The grip end is wide enough to wrap around a can of soup. Three, the materials that is made of is a little flimsy, need to be better quality. This is my second pickput tool. The rubber tips at the end broke off my first tool.Customer Review: Sure beats bending over!

We have a dog and a Dad (: to pick up after, and this thing is great! In the front yard, where the dog's toys and various twigs and leaves find themselves, the grabber is useful for avoiding dog drool, and it's much easier to use the Gopher than to bend over and pick up things twenty or so times. The garage and patio have bits of stripped wires and other things from Dad's projects, and, again, it's much easier to pick up these little pieces of rubber and wire with the Gopher than to bend over. At ten bucks, it's pretty much disposable and you can have more than one in the house. Save your back and avoid the tedium. Pick up a Gopher!Customer Review: Worth Its Weight In Gold!

I've been using this product now for around five years and still am amazed how effective it has been. It's almost unbelievable. It picks up everything from a thin dime to heavy clothes.
If you have knees or back problems this little gadget is a lifesaver. This is the first "product" I have "reviewed," so you know how much I think of it. When you have something this good, you want to share it.
If bending over and picking up things on the floor, or trying to reach things in back of a washer & dryer, etc., is painful for you, this will be the greatest $15 you ever spent!

I JUST GOT MY GRABBER FROM VENDANT AND IT IS ALMOST THE SAME AS THE ONE I PAID $12.00 FOR. I REALLY WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THE STAINLESS STEEL CABLE RUBBING ON THE ALUMINUM BODY IT WILL LAST A VERY LONG TIME. MY OTHER "OFFICIAL" GRABBER DOES THE SAME THING. I
HAD NO TROUBLE CHANGING A LIGHT BULB WITH THE HARDER RUBBER CUPS. THESE WILL PROBALY LAST LONGER THAN THE SOFT ONES THE SCREWS RIP OUT OF. AS FOR NOT PICKING UP THINGS THESE WERE ABLE TO PICK UP A PAPER CLIP OFF OF A HARD WOOD FLOOR. I PLAN ON ORDERING MORE OF THEM AT THIS PRICE THE ARE ALMOST FREE.
