Customer Reviews of Atkins Ready To Drink Shake, Vanilla, 11-Ounce Aseptic Containers (Pack of 12)

Customer Review: Delicious vanilla shake
Summary: 5 Stars

I normally drink EAS' AdvantEdge low carb shakes. They were 110 calories, 3 carbs, and less fat than the Atkins. But the Atkins vanilla is awesome. The EAS drink tastes a lot like sweetened soy milk, which I grew up on, so I love, but the Atkins drink actually tastes like a shake.

I've actually been craving these things during the daytime more for the dessert like quality than the nutrition it provides. My only gripe is that the fat content in the Atkins shake is a lot higher than the EAS drink. The EAS drink has maybe 30 calories from fat out of the 110 total. The Atkins is 80 calories of fat, 150 total.

I'm using these shakes to supplement my daily intake, as they are an easy way to get protein, and satisfy my sweet tooth.

I don't really follow any sort of diet. I've just cut out nearly all fast food (maybe 2-3 times a month now) and I try to eat more often so I don't starve and binge eat. I've lost over 20 pounds in 2 months just by doing that. Those results alone are encouraging me to actually think of taking up some exercise!

Customer Review: Good concept, Nice tasting, Lost 40lbs using these in a diet
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a milk-protein based shake that provides 15g of protein, 1g sugar and 9g fat. It's sweetened with an artificial sweetener -- deliciously so, although I was concerned at first since artificial sweeteners normally work against a diet (I'm no longer concerned, it's done well for me). There's about ton of vitamins packed in to make sure you still get the nutrition you need in a meal-replacement shake such as this.

I started casually drinking a few different flavors of Atkins shakes almost a year ago. At the start, it helped helped to level off (but not reduce) my weight. When I got serious about it, I acquired a mini-fridge for my office 5 months ago (from a friend for $75), and then started drinking ice-cold shakes 3 or so times a day -- then have a reasonable dinner at the end of the day. That, plus some help keeping my rest metabolism up, has done wonders.

Customer Review: What were they thinking?
Summary: 1 Stars

I don't mind them redesigning the container, but why did they reformulate the contents? The old Atkins shakes had a taste and texture that was creamy and deliciously decadent, and satisfied me for several hours. The new formula has less calories and more carbs (doesn't that go against the Atkins principals?) and is watery, flavorless, and I'm hungry again in less than an hour. Being a previously devoted Atkins shake fan, I hate to say this, but Slimfast Low Carb shakes now taste better than the new Atkins shakes. Atkins cost more than Slimfast Low Carb, but they used to be worth it! I do have a hint though, if you add a couple of servings of half-and-half (the kind that are for adding to coffee) to the shake, it helps create a creamier shake that is a bit more satisfying. But why should I have to? Why did they think they had to fix something that wasn't broken?

Customer Review: Love it!

I was a little nervous to try this out, as most shakes I've tried just taste watered down, "fake" or too grainy. My husband and I needed something to replace our sweet tooth after dinner (we've been on the Atkin's Diet for almost a month now) and this shake was great! It tastes great super cold and even better blended with ice. The size is perfect, not too big, and not too small - it was actually bigger than we expected, and for only 1 carb per shake, it's really worth it. We even let my 11 month old try a sip and she loved it! Sometimes I throw one of these along with a Daybreak Bar into my husband's lunch and he really appreciates it. It's definitely worth a try!

Customer Review: Very Good Served VERY Cold! Recommended!
Summary: 4 Stars

As a Type 2 Diabetic, I try to keep my carb and calorie intake as low as possible. I have been using various low carb shakes for over a year now and find the Atkins brand to be one of the best. The more expensive Slim-Fast Low-Carb Ready To Drink, Vanilla Cream, 11-Ounce Cans in 4-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) is the best tasting in my opinon, but it is slightly higher in both carbs and calories. The SlimFast also comes in cans, not these cardboard packs.

All of these shakes taste best when served very cold and poured in to a glass.
