...am I the only reviewer to find the marketing hilarious?
Amazon uses the best packaging line in its description: "When girls check out guys, they notice every part. They don't miss a thing. Neither does the Axe Detailer." The video above is just as amusing. Men's carwash/shower fantasy tool? This is supposed to seriously promote this product??
Yes, it works just fine, but look for it to become unsanitary quickly; its design looks like it's going to collect soap residue (and possibly germs?), especially on the underside of the black grip. I'd recommend it for any man too hypersensitive about his manliness to exfoliate with a $1 shower puff from Wal-Mart, or as a gag gift for a newly-single friend trying to impress the ladies.
There are cheaper, better ways to do what this thing does. But you knew that, right?
(edited to add, 7/18: After about a month of steady use, I'm more enamored with the exfoiator-in-hand convenience than I'd expected, and I think my feet/knees/elbows are smoother as a result. However, the scrub-puff part is starting to become loose and unmoored. This isn't too different from any other mesh scrubby lifespan, but I thought it was worth returning to report.)

It looks nice and works well, there's not much to say about it. Axe recommends you replace it every 4-6 weeks, I toss mine in the washing machine once a week with a little color safe bleach and some Tide. I do own a couple of these as they work well, but even with my weekly tossing em in the washing machine I don't want to use the same one every day forever :)
If you can find the body wash in the special package it will come with an "Axe Shower Hook-Up" which is a suction cup thing that'll hold your bottle to your shower wall. It also has a little hook on the bottom to hang your Axe Detailer. It's pretty ingenious, but my bottle doesn't always stay in place.
Maybe it's all in my mind but after showering and using my Axe Detailer(tm) lathered with Axe Recovery(tm) I feel cleaner. Axe Recovery also smells VERY GOOD. With Snake Peel being a close 2nd IMHO.
This is basically a more manly pouf, the red scrubby on the front is nice, but I don't suggest you scrubbin' ya privates with it *ouch* it's pretty rough. And the rubber grips all around it make it easy to hold and better for applying pressure when you're really scrubbing.
I approve of this product, and my ultimate goal is to have 7 bottles of different Axe Shower Gel, each on their own Axe Shower Hook-Up that has it's own Axe Detailer on it. One for each day of the week. A bit excessive? probably, but it will look cool and you can never be too clean :)

Walk into a bath products store and you see all those "bath poofs". Just the colors make a male stand about three feet or more away. Truth is we guys use liquid soap for the bath too and a towel just don't cut it with gel as it takes a millenium to get a good lather.
Enter the "Detailer" by Axe. Here's a "tool" that a man won't be ashamed of being seen with. It's red, black, rubbery and has one side with a "soft scrubber". It doesn't look like anything your wife would ever borrow. Since we've noted it has a masculine look the big question is does it work or take up space? I'd say it earns it's keep.
We guys want to get in and out more than pamper. The lather side allows that as it helps work up and generous soap head and then the reinforced rubber outer support ring allows a guy to "get with it" scrubbing as hard as whatever grime has accumulated requires. The flip side with what for better terminology I'm calling the "soft sandpaper side" really helps me get my fingers clean after work...though Axe recommends it for feet (I'm sure that would be equally effective).
So, a big thumbs up for the shower poof a guy can love. I use it daily and recommend it without hesitation.

The Axe Detailer Shower Tool is decent for what it's intended to do, but when all is said and done it is merely just an average thing to use. Sure, it has two sides a 'soft' (read loofa) side and a harder scrubbing side.
All this really is, is a highly marketed loofa. Axe recommends that you use Axe body wash with this, but any liguid body soap will work just fine. I have used this about a dozen times and am neither displeased with it, nor am I overly pleased with it. In fact, after the 9th time using it some of the black (soft) fabric was already peeling away from the rubber base. So I am beginning to question the overall quality of the product.
The red scrubber side is decent enough and rough enough to get the dirt and grime off my feet after wearing sandals all day.
One positive about the black side, but this could apply to any loofa, is that I recently got sunburned and started to peel and this product helped me get the dead/peeling skin off faster.
Overall this is a decent product, but I am not sure I would buy into the marketing of it. It certainly looks cool, but doesn't really do anything different then countless other products like this already on the market.

I ordered this for Hubby and didn't think much of it when I actually laid my eyes on it. This is one of those products where looks can be deceiving! He came to me on his own and told me how much he loved it. We are a big loofah loving family... so if the man in your life doesn't appreciate loofahs', then don't go there unless he is open to them. He loved how it had a loofah on one side and the other tougher side. He loves to use the tough side on his nails and the bottom of his feet. It has actually softened his hard-working calloused feet. I am not guaranteeing that it will remove them, but it will soften your tough guys feet after all.
I tried it myself so that I could review it. I ended up enjoying it as well. The loofah is great and the other side is a great bonus. I used it on the soles of my feet and I was in heaven. The product itself looks funny enough, because the black piece sort of looks like a tire to me. Nice product design and packaging.... now if they only included some Axe soap with it... it would be a wonderful deal.
Try it out and ofcourse Axe soap. They are such sexy smelling soaps that make you want to ravish your man. Ok... too much information.
