Customer Reviews of Axe Detailer Shower Tool, Colors May Vary (Pack of 4)

Customer Review: Body Scrubber
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
It's a nice body scrubber, especially for anybody doing "dirty" jobs. In the pix you see, it is a round disk. (The clear/white is the plastic packaging.) The black you see in the photo is a soft rubber squishy outside, so you can squeeze it, especially when you use the meshy other side to squirt liquid soap on and lather up with. The meshy side is the same as those lather squisheys that people use in the shower, only in black, instead of in pretty colors. The red you see in the photo is a harder "scrubber" side, for dirty dirt (grease, paint, whatever). So, this is especially good for somebody (usually a guy) who just did a dirty job to scrub up with. Guys, I do not recommend it for those "sensitive" areas though, unless you are REALLY tough or are REALLY drunk.

Can a woman use it? Sure. But most women would probably not use it because it's a little on the rough side. You could use it to exfoliate the dead skin, if you rub lightly.

It has a cord attached so you can hang it in the shower and leave it there, ready for the next time. The directions recommend you use it with Axe Shower Gel, but you could use any liquid soap, or probably even bar soap, to lather up with.

Customer Review: Just Average
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
As far as products like this go it's pretty much average. The soft black side does the job and feels like other mesh type products that usually come in a globe shape held together in the middle by a band. Great for lathering up and soft and smooth with just a touch of texture. As for the rougher red hard side again it's very much like other brushes that come with a texturized scrubber on one side of them. One advantage is that both of these brushes are on one product - but there are other brushes out there that are pretty similar with one part soft mesh and the other loofa type material and those products have the added advantage of being on a longer handle so you can easily reach the middle of your back and other hard to get to places where the Axe does not. Additionally the black rubberized donut shaped holder was mushy so that the red side was always caving in (this was not a problem with the black side where you probably want it be be more flexible anyway).

So it's an O.K. product, especially if you are using more than one product to do the job today. But if you have a handle type product today with both a soft and rough area built in you will probably want to stick with that product.

Customer Review: Axe Detailer Shower Tool
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Axe Detailer Shower Tool is an attractive shower decoration. It would look very nice in an all white shower. It's not as attractive hanging against my blue and yellow tile. Besides it's decorative aspects there's nothing about this product to recommend.

The tool consists of a vinyl mesh faux loufah gathered and attached to a large rubber disc with a finer vinyl weave attached to the other side. The disc is so large that it does hot allow scrubbing behind or inside the ears. The tool will not fit between my cheek bone and nose. the finer weaved part is supposed to allow removal of "tough" dirt but doesn't work as well as a regular wash cloth. The rubber disc is too large to fit comfortably in a regular sized hand. This allows one to experience feelings of inadequacy in the shower without looking downwards.

The Axe Detailer Shower Tool is truly the Pet Rock of Men's personal grooming products. Only they have outdone the Pet Rock people by making you buy 4 of these things, that are good for nothing but just hanging there, instead of just one.

Customer Review: A Really Good Scrubber!
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I'm not a "loofah" person but I have been using a plastic mesh scrubber for years. The "Axe Detailer Shower Tool", scrubber is a major step up from the typical mesh scrubber. The black side is simmilar to plastic mesh but has a more firm and tighter weave. That alone gives it more ooomph. Combine that with the rubber enclosure which gives you a firm grip on the device and you have a really nice product. Then top it off with the RED side, the very tight weave that's more like a hard sponge and you have a GREAT scubber for the shower. My elbows and heals are a tough spot. I've got a bit of flakey skin there. This powered through those areas without hurting or doing damage. They came out smoother and cleaner. Very nice!
The only addition I can think of might be a handle attachment to snap it into, to scrub the back. Other than that, it's heartily reccomended! Good job Axe!!

UPDATE: July 17.
I wanted to add that I still really like this product and wound up buying two of the 4 packs with the current coupon. Fast becoming my favorite scrubber ever.

Customer Review: For appearances sake...
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
If your man chooses to groom
Himself inside a locker room
Get him THIS tool for the shower
A manly AXE with scrubbing power

Appearance wise, this is a hit
A rubber "tire" surrounds it
So he can grip his sturdy AXE
And purge the dirt from out the tracks

HOWEVER......

For getting into all the cracks
There's no real need to use this AXE
Unless you've oil and grime galore
From cleaning seabirds on the shore

The mesh side lathers up real quick
And is the side that you should pick
The other is like coarse sandpaper
In case your skin requires a scraper

Beware the red side if your skin
Is sensitive or very thin
Scrub your elbows and your heels
To understand how raw skin feels

It isn't that this product sucks
It's kinda cool - but for four bucks?
A bath net sponge performs just fine
And costs a dollar ninety nine
