Customer Review: Probably saved me from a DWI

I bought this a few weeks ago, stuck it in my car and forgot about it. Some friends and I went out to celebrate their anniversary and I thought for sure that when we left the restaurant that we were able to drive home. We all decided to give the bactrack a try and sure enough, we were all around 0.09 which is above the legal limit. We took a cab instead and saw a DWI checkpoint going on a few miles from the restaurant. This baby probably saved us from a DWI and possibly saved our lives. I'll never leave home without it! The Bactrack is perfect for any drinker. I decided to buy them one for their anniversary as well.Customer Review: Broke in Three blows! Not worth it!!!

I bought this as a gift and thought that I would try it out. Being a Police Officer I thought that it would be good to give as a gift. After getting it out of the box and put the batteries in I thought, "What a piece". It's put together with low grade plastic and looks like it would break in a single drop. Guess what, I didn't even drop it and it broke. I had a couple drinks and it registered .00%. It should have been at least a .01%. Then it turned off and never came back on. This one may look good in the pictues but its just another piece of plastic. No Thanks!!!Customer Review: You do get what you pay for.

I bought this from Sharper Image for $85.99 in December of 2010.
The directions tell you that you must not eat, drink, or smoke anything 20 minutes prior to using which defeated the purpose for me. I bought this to use at parties / bars / etc and if you have to wait 20 minutes after having anything in your mouth it's not very functional.
I am returning this product and going to suck it up and purchase a more expensive model as I've read these really work like the ones the police use.
I would not suggest this product to a friend. Sorry!!

I read the instructions very carefully & put brand new batteries in it, but still this thing only worked about 1 time out of every 20. VERY ANNOYING. I picked this one because it seemed better than all the rest. And maybe I got a damaged one that was a lemon the minute it came down the factory line... but maybe this thing is just a poor design. Who knows? I am sure it was not operator error. I own a tech company and have to use, fix, figure out, etc. many different kinds of tech gadgets so I have a good gut feel when something is not right.Customer Review: Breaks easily...

I got my first one about 2 weeks ago... Put batteries in it, blew, 0.00%. Had a beer, waited 20min, blew, 0.03%. blew again, 0.03%. Looks Good! Turned it off, and went to bed.
Woke up the next morning, blew for kicks, "Err". Hmm, tried again, "Err". and again, and again, and... Got a replacement quickly from Amazon's awesome customer service.
_The very same thing happened_. Worked the first night, turned it off, and nothing but "Err" ever since.
This one's going back, and I will not buy another.
