I did quite a bit of research before buying this model. I live in Minnesota where alchohol offenses are having increasingly onerous penalties. Not to mention the life changing risk you face if you accidentally kill someone while under the influence. There is no excuse to ever get a DUI if you own one of these and use it correctly. We own a boat and like to spend the days on the lake tipping a few back - well you run the risk of having your vehicle confiscated if you are over the limit, among quite a few other penalties. The S80 always gives an accurate result and gives us the confidence to have a few and know where we stand from a BAC standpoint. Once we had my sister use it - she had been drinking "wine" all day - I was confused when her reading came back as 0.00 - turns out she was drinking grape juice and pretending it was wine.
I have owned mine for over a year and have had no problems what-so-ever. If you like to drink at all and have a lot to lose if caught for DUI - this is a must have. The price seems like a bargain when you are the mitigating the risks of far great costs and/or potentially jail time.

If you want to measure accurate BAC levels, then this is the unit to get. All the positive reviews here are true. Maybe someone got a defective unit, in one of the reviews here, but hey, that can happen on a fluke. Anyways, It's fun to test to know where you stand after raising a few glasses. This unit is worth the extra $$, and knowing that the police use it for field tests tells you that it is no novelty or toy unit. It's the real deal. Comes with 6 mouthpieces included. Get a pack of 10 extra mouthpieces if you are just using it for yourself, and just keep reusing one. But after a few dozen tests, the little airball in the mouthpiece starts sticking, but the BAC results still seem consistent, so I don't know the importance of the little airball spinning while blowing into the unit. Comes with a nice case, too. Buy this for $150 or less here, and know its worth it because you know the results are accurate. Save yourself a $12K DUI penalty. Have fun just knowing what actual BAC your buzz is. Test your wife or girlfriend if she is talking smack, and know when it is the booze talking, hehe. I have owned the B70 for a few years now and it was a great product. It has saved my friends and I many times, and also provided some great entertainment.
I just got the new S80 and I'm very impressed with the improvements that have been made. First, it is easier to use correctly (simply blow into like normally as opposed to "fogging the mirror" like the B70). This has made it simpler for people who don't use the breathalyzer often to get accurate readings.
I also really like the extra digit of precision this model offers, particularly when approaching the .08 number ;)
I've had a breathalyzer for years now and I can't recommend enough that people own one. This product is MUCH cheaper than the costs of any DUI you would ever get.

After girlfriend got a DUI, I bought her one of these. She was skeptical, but after testing it many nights in a row (drinking in the name of research of course), we were pleasantly surprised to find it very accurate. It's expensive but its absolutely worth it for the quality. I can't believe that the police are the only ones who have access to these. By the time you're using it with a cop, its usually too late. FYI - the instructions say that you want to wait 15 to 20 minutes after you've had a drink, otherwise it'll pick up the alcohol still in your mouth and read too high.
The one I ordered came promptly with nice packaging. I'm here on Amazon because I'm ordering another one for myself.
Customer Review: Absolutely consistent, and appears accurate

This unit impressed the hell out of me, regarding its consistency. It measures to .001% BAC, and it gave me exactly the same number, every time. I drank two glasses of wine (5-ounce), waited 20 minutes, and tested several times over the next hour and a half. Back-to-back readings were identical, and they slowly dropped at about they rate I would expect. Zero variance. I mean zero.
Previously, I had an AlcoHawk, which always gave me a range of numbers -- I'd test three times and take the median. I eventually tossed that other product in the dumpster, because I didn't trust it.
This unit is a different story - I would buy this unit again, without reservation.
