I decided to buy this thermometer after reading the Amazon reviews. I am very pleased with it. I like the fact that it has single beeps while working, and three rapid beeps when finished. So much better than those that only beep once when finished. Also. The retention of the reading, and the backlight feature are great--especially for those of us who sometimes have "senior moments." Readings are very consistent. Seemed accurate, compared to a mercury thermometer I have. Costs a little more, but well worth it if you measure your temperature often.Customer Review: Finally!

After trying numerous digital thermometers, some flex tips, some 8 second reads, all of which were wildly inaccurate, I read the Amazon reviews and bought the BD.
It has no flex tip and takes longer to give a reading. But the reading is accurate! It's the same as my mercury antique, which I'm carefully saving as the gold standard by which to measure the accuracy of digital models. I bought one BD to try it out and will now buy a pack of three to give them to members of my family. A great product!

I bought this for charting purposes. After a few cycles, I was concerned with my low temps. I had recently been tested for a thyroid issue, and my test results came back normal. But my temps with this BBT ranged from 95.6-97 degrees F. Too low!
I had another thermometer that was not BBT and it temped 1 degree warmer than this BBT. So I bought a new BBT from the drug store, and it temped 0.5 to 1 degrees warmer than this BBT.
So it is not as accurate as other reviewers say.
Customer Review: Beeping sound is annoying

This thermometer beeps the entire minute until it reaches the peak tempurature. I've been using this for over 2 weeks to help me track ovulation. That means taking my temp as soon as I wake up everyday. So every morning I use this and try to discretely take my temperature while my husband is still asleep. Needless to say that doesn't work since this thing beeps rather annoyingly the entire time. I'm off to get a new BBT thermometer today.Customer Review: accurate

This works great! It is easy to use, has a backlite so you can read it in the dark, the batteries last forever since it automatically shuts off after reading, no worries it saves the last reading just turn it back on. Feels smooth and long enough for both infant and adult use. It is a very accurate thermometer but slow...between 30secs - 90 secs! depending on the times...not ideal for a baby but wonderful for older kids and adults.
