This is the only BBT thermometer that I have used and I have to say that I LOVE it. I am glad that I read the reviews. It took me a little time to get used to the beeping but it didn't keep me from going back to sleep. My husband doesn't even hear it and has never woken up from it. I also love that it records the last temp. read so that I don't have to write it down all of the time right away. It's a waste of time to use this product. The other day I longed for the days of mercury thermometers which--with all their down sides--would actually measure correctly! What a concept.
Just yesterday I needed to check for a fever and tried it--99.7... okay. Try again like 1 minute later: 97.0! And, no, I had not just chugged ice water.
I just want a thermometer that works... any suggestions?

After having tried a Walgreen's brand thermometer that was extremely inaccurate (you can check a thermometer's accuracy by taking your temperature two or three times in a row) I am pleased to say that this is an EXCELLENT thermometer and I am 100% satisfied. The beeps are not a big deal at all, but rather an added bonus to let you know that thermometer is functioning properly.Customer Review: Best BBT thermometer ever

I had this same one for years until my toddler lost it playing with it. I tried two different brands and was dissapointed. This one is great because it beeps to let you know its working, and has the temp recall as well. I find that holding your thumb over the little hole in the back muffles the beeping, wich is a tiny bit on the loud side.Customer Review: Easy to use and accurate

I researched thermometers through Consumer Reports before deciding on this one (and after breaking the old-fashioned mercury thermometer that I'd had for years, and loved). This was the most highly-rated one that CU reviewed and I can see why. It's extremely easy to use and very accurate. I would definitely recommend this product.
