Customer Reviews of BSN N.O.-Xplode Extreme Pre-Training Performance Igniter, Fruit Punch 2.25 lb (1025 g)Customer Review: What You Need to Know About NO! Summary: 4 Stars
Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition's (BSN) NO Xplode is a top of the line product...for those who can handle it. If you feel as if your performance has plateaued than this could be what gets you over the ridge. I found this supplement extremely helpful. I'm not only repping more but my mental and physical endurance has shot through the roof. The proprietary blend not only gives you the tunnel vision for mental focus but also widens blood vessels for faster transport of nutrients to key muscles and improved recovery after extreme workouts. I felt a change the first few days and it seemed to slowly get better. This is where you have to be careful...
Like the other previous reviews it does contain a lot of caffeine and should be taken with caution. READ THE FINE PRINT. The FDA ingredients label and instructions are the foundation to the techniques you'll use when using this product. Drink lots of water to compensate for the lost hydration due to the caffeine. ADJUST ACCORDINGLY. Listening to your body is an important part. Only take what your body can handle and don't overdue it...bigger isn't always better. TRY NOT TO TOLERATE IT. You will have to cycle off of it from time to time (as the instructions read) to give your brain and adrenal glands a break. This is by far the most important part of the pre-workout supplement phase. I didn't start to see true physical results in the form of muscle definition and power until I got off of it. The mental awareness wasn't there but at the same time I could concentrate much more on form and structure through patience of what was going on.
Everyone is different when it comes to whether or not to take this product. Another key point is to make sure your already in good shape. A lot of the side effects present in the lower reviews could be because the user went straight from couch potatoe to using NO to see if it would make a difference...you can't do that. Your body has to be better than the NO so it can take its harsh ingredients and build from it. If the body isn't ready then damage to the liver and kidneys can occur and can be hard to reverse. All in all a good product just make sure to read the fine print, hydrate accordingly, and train hard!
Customer Review: Observations after 2 years of NX Summary: 5 Stars
When I originally tried NO Xplode, it took about 3 uses before I felt any difference. But what a difference it was! I had more intense workouts, and more energy to work out longer. That was over 2 years ago and I was compelled enough to write a short review here on Amazon. I recently ordered some more and decided to update my old review.
I have now been using NX for over 2 years and I have a few observations to share.
1) I take 1-2 scoops before workouts only (I don't take the scoop a day as recommended) and the larger 2.25 lb size lasts about 2 months at 3-4 workouts per week. Now I can tell a big negative difference when I forget to take NX.
2) NX includes creatine, which needs to be taken regularly to be effective. Since I only use NX before I work out, I save some $$ by taking creatine separately each day. I substitute the NX for one dose of creatine on workout days. I think the combination of daily creatine and NX pre-workout provides the optimal short-term and long-term effects, while minimizing any unwanted side effects of NX (like those discussed below).
3) This stuff is full of caffiene, so if I take it before late-night workouts I will always have trouble getting to sleep afterwards. Some claim that the caffiene is the effective ingredient. I have taken caffiene pills instead of NX and there is nothing to compare. Like others, I am skeptical of "proprietary blend" but this stuff really works better than any other pre-workout suppliment I have ever found.
4) Both caffiene and creatine will dehydrate you so you need to drink plenty of water while taking either of these suppliments. I get a headache/dizziness about an hour after taking NX if I am not hydrated, and I can almost always get rid of these effects by drinking plenty of water over the following hour. I've heard others with similar complaints, so I wanted to share what works for me.
Lastly, of the flavors I've tried, my favorite is orange followed by lime, fruit punch, and raspberry. I didn't like the Rasberry flavor at all- it tasted like cough syrup.
Customer Review: One of the best pre-workout sups on the market Summary: 5 Stars
I've used this stuff for years now. Sadly, I don't even know where, why or how I got a hold of it to begin with. I use to workout savagely. I'd buy up every new supplement that came to market and that is more than likely what brought me to No-xplode to be honest. Good ol' Fashion trial and error. I don't really get into working and bodybuilding like I use to but I go to the gym daily and over the last year have decided to lose all my mass and bulk (was 240 lbs) and slim down t 200. Right now I'm at 205lbs. This is one of the main reasons for that. I feel fantastic and I look fantastic and I feel it is largely due to the focus, drive and strength No-xplode gives you.
I've gone 2 months without it, trying to let it lave my system, and when it comes back into my system... WOW! You feel like a new man. I know I sound like I work for BSN, but I don't. I just really believe in the product that much. This is a supplement that you can take no matter what regiment you are on. It will adapt to what it is you're trying to do. Trying to get 19inch arms? Take Nox. Trying to slim down and get ripped? Take Nox. I cannot say enough great things about it. Buy it... Try it. If you don't like it I won't give your money back but I'll probably say you didn't use it right. "ha"
I usually do 4 scoops a day, and that can get expensive, but it's what works best for me... I then do it in 2 month cycles. On for 2 - Off for 2 - On for 1 - Off for 1 and then repeat. You do this and you stick to the regiment you think works for you and tell me you don't get results. Right now I 600 crunches - 700 push ups - 7 miles cardio at over 2000 calorie burn off - and do very light weight training. I lost over 30 lbs of bulky muscle mass and went down to a very streamline, ripped, 205 lbs.
It works for me.
Customer Review: Please use caution. Not recommended Summary: 1 Stars
When I first tried this product I kept hearing guys saying it was great. So i went and switched to it. When i first tasted it, i thought the taste was horrible, bitter and sour. But there's many out there like that. So I drank it. The first couple of weeks I felt like I had just had my lines of cocaine (yes, I speak from experience). younger years. My alertness was extremely high, so high that I would get a little paranoid about everything. The only difference between this and cocaine was that there was no hallucinogetic effects. after 15 minutes of taking it i would feel dizzy, lightheaded and like i was floating on air. When I would start my workout, 30 to 40 minutes after taking it, as instructed, I would not even feel like i was working out. My muscles did not tire. Yes I pushed a couple more pumps, but there was no real muscle gain. instead there was more of a fatty gain than muscle. I was nicely cut when i started using Xplode, then my cuts faded away. i would work harder and would not get results. I was pushing a little more weight, true, but i was getting fatter rather than leaner. I don't work out to push a lot of weight. i'm not a professional body builder. I just want to have a decent good looking body. So i could care less about pushing more weight if i looked fat. i would rather push 10 pounds less and look lean and strong. rather than flabby and round.
the nauseas were horrible and so were the abdominal cramps. What i'm writing is from my personal experience. Eveyone has a different body. If you're able to. Sample this rather than buying it and then you judge. most local nutrition places have packet samples. one packet equals two servings. In those first two servings you will know with Xplode.
Customer Review: Eh, not really worth the money or risk Summary: 2 Stars
To be honest, I really don't like this product very much for a couple of reasons.
First, it's supposed to give you added ability to "get over the hump" when you're working out, so you can push out those extra few reps at the end of your sets. After using this for a few weeks, I didn't really notice any major difference between when I was using it, and when I stopped. It's really more about your mental state than anything else. At least it was for me.
Second, it's not bad tasting at first, but after a few weeks, it became a fight to choke it down. That doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. I'm supposed to be forcing (to a degree) myself to lift harder, not drink something.
Third, I sort of had an issue with the fact that they want you to use it daily, even on non-workout days. I can understand the reasoning behind using protein everyday, since it's a major part of your diet, but using this stuff daily doesn't really seem to make a lot of sense to me. Last time I checked, NO-Xplode wasn't in any nutrition text book I've ever read.
All this, combined with some information I've read about people having issues with their livers after using this product, I can't say I'm too happy with this stuff. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone I know, and the only reason I didn't give this stuff one star is because I tend to reserve that for products that are totally bogus.
Anyway, this is all just one persons's opinion, but I hope this helps you make your decision.
