Customer Reviews of BSN Syntha-6 Protein Powder, Chocolate Milkshake, 2.91 PoundCustomer Review: Best Protein Power ever Used Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried all popular brands, Muscle Milk, ON whey, EAS, BSN, Muscle Tech etc etc and I have to say that this is by far the superior quality Protein shake. In fact BSN is a brand that makes quality products. Now question is why is this protein so good. here are few reasons -
1) This is a complex and not just whey. SO it wont release right away. It will release over time which is better for your muscle recovery. Also you wont feel hungry right away.
2) Mixability - This is where it shines. I drink it every day with water, put it in any utensil and you can easily mix ti with a spoon. Someone said mixability of ON whey is better, I dont agree with it. ON whey is better than Muscle milk but not than Syntha-6.
3)Quality & Nutrition - This is a fine quality product that will help muscle building and recovery at good rate.
4) Taste - I have tried many flavors and I have to say I have yet to find one that I didnt like.
Yes this is little bit pricey as compared to ON and other brands but you pay for superior quality and product.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is in market looking for a good quality food supplement.
Customer Review: Best Tasting Protein Powder I've Tried Summary: 5 Stars
Well, I'm not a professional body builder, but I've done my homework. BSN's Syntha-6 stacks up. I haven't tried nearly every protein powder out there - I've probably barely scratched the surface - but Syntha-6 is my favorite so far. I've tried MuscleMilk - it's ok.. Syntha has less fat - I'm a fan of VPX's Redline and ZeroImpact Bars and have tried VPX's ZeroImpact Graham Cracker and Chocolate powder (which ended up more like ZeroTaste.. it was awful. Thanks VPX.) - and I bought Syntha-6 based on the sole reviews of this site. I have to say I am an extremely happy customer. I chose this over MuscleTech's MuscleNitrous because so many people were raving about the taste of Syntha - and they're right. Let me say this again - the flavor of Syntha-6 is OUTSTANDING. I would say it tastes a lot like instant cocoa, or reduced fat chocolate milk, which is leaps and bounds over VPX's failed attempt at "chocolate". I'm going to be looking forward to my morning protein shake before I head off to the gym from now on, instead of feeling nausiated and holding my nose and I choke down another chalky drink. BSN, thank you for this wonderful protein mix. :)
Customer Review: Great cold cereal replacement in a cool container. Summary: 5 Stars
I started trying to reel in my hypoglycemia and was looking for a cold cereal replacement for breakfast. After trying 3 or 4 protein powders from the supermarket and health food store, I used an online nutritional screener to zero in on exactly what I was looking for and wound up with this. It tastes better than anything else I tried. I almost always make it in the blender with skim milk + 7 ice cubes + a banana or peanut butter. Sometimes I switch it up and eat an egg/toast for breakfast and on those days, I take a shake to work for lunch. Amazon is cheaper, more convenient, and less hassle for me than the local dealer (GNC) so I buy it here.
When I'm done with a container, I use it in the garage for storage. I use a black magic marker to write on the top what's inside. I've got a place where they stack like cordwood. The container is large enough to hold quite a bit of stuff and I've got one each for nut's & bolts, ac/dc adaptors, plant fertilizer, etc. etc.
Customer Review: Tasted great, but caused congestion? Summary: 4 Stars
I was amazed at how good it tasted and how well it blends. It says to blend 1-2 scoops (the scoop is big, probably a quarter cup at least) into 4-8 oz of water, but I always used at least 12 oz. Even still it tasted great and dissolved entirely. I also tried blending into milk and while it dissolved, I would almost say it tasted better with water.
As for the effectiveness, I can't really say if it boosted my muscle growth, but I did think I felt better during my workouts if I drank some beforehand. It is also very filling and made a good breakfast substitute.
My only complaint is that I thought it made the back of my mouth sore and caused some major congestion. This happened after drinking it ~2 times a day for about a week. I don't know if this was actually the cause, but the "sickness" seemed different than the average cold, and my mucus had a strangely yellow tint, so I thought I might have had an allergic reaction of some sort.
Customer Review: Expensive but great for a nighttime shake Summary: 4 Stars
A little expensive, but it seems to do the trick. The taste is quite smooth and pleasant, and I'm very impressed with how much they minimized the artificial taste that most protein powders get from their sweeteners. It hardly has any of that fake sugar taste at all. I wouldn't call it delicious, but it's the closest a powder has come to actually tasting like a chocolate shake, at least out of the ones that I've tasted. Unfortunately, it doesn't mix as well as other formulas. I usually end up getting some chunks even when I dilute it over the suggested amount and shake vigorously. The other powder I use, a whey mix by Muscle Milk, mixes far better.
This is the powder I use this powder for extended recovery, namely right before bed and in the morning, if I'm worried that my food protein intake won't be sufficient. The casein composition makes the powder just right for this purpose. I do not use this right after the gym; a whey isolate is better for that.
