Customer Reviews of BSN Syntha-6 Protein Powder, Chocolate Milkshake, 2.91 Pound

Customer Review: Not the best
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted a good protein powder and this one was found to be the better one from Amazon. It contains a mix of different proteins and I like that. It is No : 2 in best seller category of Protein powder and most of the other brands contained artificial sweeteners and unhealthy ingredients. But to my surprise, I fund that this item also contains some dangerous ingredients. A person told me that there is a little high Cadmium content in it. Now I take this powder only every other day. It is a little bit sweet and I don't know why a brand like BSN needed to sweeten this product with artificial sweeteners. It forms chunks when mixed in milk or water with a spoon. But if you use a juicer, it gets dissolved easily. If the ingredients were of high quality & if it was not sweet, I would have given it a 5 star. Now I will better go for Natures Best Isopure Natural Low Carb Unflavored brand.

Customer Review: Good, quick protein
Summary: 4 Stars

Before trying this protein, my experience was mostly with GNC-brand whey. I like Syntha-6 much better for the following reasons:

+Syntha-6 dissolves more thoroughly in a shorter amount of time. I normally take 2 scoops with 0.5L of water, and it takes 25-30 "shakes" before it is completely dissolved. The last protein I used took 40-50 "shakes".

+Syntha-6 gives 22g of protein per scoop, while the other gives just 20g.

+The chocolate flavor is more potent.

+The mix of protein types seems to help it digest more slowly, so its better as a pre-workout shake than post-workout.

I don't think it's perfect, though, as I often can taste it during a tough workout (and it makes me burp, which is gross when you're on a run). Overall, though, I'd recommend it if you can find it for under $18 for this jug.

Customer Review: GREAT TASTING
Summary: 4 Stars

Great tasting protein with alot of good stuff in too including casein. So its almost like a good meal replacement. This is a good protein for anyone trying to have a clean bulk up. I mean it wont just put calories and fat into you, you get a good amount of protein for the amount you buy. I did see a difference in strength and somewhat size. But the casein and the recovery from this protein is through the roof. I dont feel sore the next day of my workouts. For someone whos counting carbs, this may not suite your needs. But the flavor, its by far the best that i have tased so far. Also, buying this through Amazon, was really cheap even with the shipping. Only con was that this is pretty high in carbs and some fat since I take two scoops for my protein needs.

Customer Review: Syntha-6, Excellent sustained release protein
Summary: 5 Stars

For those of you who have been trying sustained release products, I would definitely recommend this product. The taste is amazing, whether mixed with water or with milk. I've noticed quite a few changes while taking this product as well.. I've definitely gained some mass and my body fat has dropped 1.5% as well! My lifts have went up, specifically my bench press and military press.
The only product I can compare this to is Cytosport's Muscle Milk. Although I prefer the taste of Muscle Milk- the serving size to cost ratio is RIDICULOUS. Only 15 servings as compared to Bsn's 30, both products cost around the same (I think syntha 6 is cheaper). If you guys are in the same boat as I was, I would definitely recommend making the switch over to this product.

Customer Review: good, but expensive powder
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased Syntha-6 after a recommendation from a friend. It is probably one of the best tasting protein powders I have purchased (I got the chocolate, but I've also tried the mocha one, which is good also). The good flavor is due to the fats, sugars, etc... (just in case you really didnt know), which makes this powder a little less healthy than others. Also, it has a bigger requirement of powder per serving than my past brands, it is a smaller container than my last brands, and it cost a little more than my last brands. Because of this, and because I am stingy, the next time I purchase a powder I will probably go back to my GNC 100% Whey. However, the time-release protein idea is good for protein intake throughout the day, but I am not that hardcore.
