Customer Review: Temperatures Were Always The Same!

I bought this thermometer during my first cycle, hoping to start tracking my fertility signs. I thought it was odd that I didn't seem to have a temperature shift during ovulation and no dip during menses. I purchased another BBT and tested on myself and in a cup of hot water. The BD Thermometer always read 97.7 +/- 0.3 degrees. It was off by over 2 degrees from the other thermometer. I don't know why, but it seems like it took the first reading I ever had (97.7) and starts from there each time, rather than zeroing out when starting a new reading.
I switched BBTs and am much happier with my current one. I now see clear temperature shifts as I would expect to. My new BBT doesn't have the continuous beeps, which I actually liked, or a backlight (which I never used). The beeping was good to have, just to know that I had pushed the right button and it was currently reading.
The BD Thermometer had a lot of great features, but they're all worthless is the thermometer function isn't working properly!

I have been using Natural Family Planning for 11 years and my 'go to' thermometer has always been a BD brand. I started with the regular white case BD thermometer that came with my charting course. I replaced it twice with another white one, which has all the same features as the pink BBT. Then I lost my last white one, and couldn't find any locally. A internet search turned up with a BD brand BBT, so I purchased one. I have not been disappointed. It works perfectly, as have all 3 of the pink bodied BBT I have purchased from BD. Why so many? Well, because I have 4 children and a dog, not because of a problem with the thermometer itself.
I have owned other brands, two from local drugstore chains and one other random one. They were all equally craptastic and I immediately went online to order a BD to replace them. I can't get a BD thermometer locally, so I keep thinking I will find something worthwhile at a local store and it just doesn't seem to happen.
I am a BD girl all the way :)
Customer Review: Accurate, Fast, Simple to Use!

I bought this product after discovering that I'd been having anovulatory cycles. I wanted to be able to prove to my Dr. that this was the case. I wake up every morning at 6:00 AM to take my temperature. I like that the thermometer has a button that you can feel, even in the dark. After inserting it into my mouth it makes several beeps (for approx. 1 minute) until the temperature is recorded. You can then push the button again to see a lighted output of your temperature. This is great for doing it in the dark. Other reviews have stated that the beeping is annoying, my husband wouldn't wake up for the 3rd world war, so this isn't a problem for me. I think this thermometer is quite sensitive. Since I'm not ovulating my temperatures are basically flat-lined, but I do notice that my temps rise after a night where I have a glass or 2 of wine, indicating to me that it's quite accurate. I would definitely recommend this thermometer for women who are TTC or are having fertility issues.Customer Review: A reliable and easy to use BBT thermometer

I really love this thermometer and would recommend it to anyone who is charting their fertility signs. Before buying this thermometer, I bought a cheap BBT thermometer at the drug store. Definitely a bad choice! My temperatures were so low that I thought I had a thyroid problem.
After stressing out about it for a few days, I decided to buy a more reliable thermometer that had good reviews. This thermometer is definitely better than my previous one. To my relief it showed that temps are in the normal range. It takes longer to actually tell you your temperature, but it is more accurate (I have compared my temps with other thermometers to see). The light-up feature is very good to have so that you can actually see your temp early in the morning when it is still dark. The beeping noise helps you know that you are taking your temperature correctly. I think that this thermometer is great and I think you will too.

First, I see Amazon has this listed at $29.99 which is crazy- shop around because I got it around $12 shipped. This BBT is beat by none!
Pros:
BACKLIGHT! From what I've read and researched this is the ONLY backlit BBT (which seems like such a 'duh' thing but it's not standard)
Only 10th of a degree to mess with- no worries to the 100th
Accurrate! I've tested it against 2 others and it is completely right on
Beeps to let you know it's working
Fairly quick
Cons:
Beep is rather loud- if you're a co-sleeper or not wanting to wake the hubby this make be a bothersome point... if you're temping half-asleep though it's a complete asset
All in all I'd recommend it over any other. I've tried 5 total and this one stands in a league of it's own.
