I really like this thermometer. I take my temp very early in the morning and the beep every few seconds keeps me from falling back asleep. It also has a steady beeping when it's finished and it lights up which makes it easy to see the temperature in the dark. It stores the last temperature so you can record it whenever you have time and not right away. I have not had any problems with this thermometer and I would highly recommend it has a lot of other BBT do not have a backlight and do not store the last temperatureCustomer Review: Not a second thermometer...

I bought this thermometer to check my basal temps when I wake up. For this purpose, one needs a thermometer which takes at least a minute. The thermometer needs to be in your mouth long enough to acquire a proper reading.
If you are using a thermometer for a baby or a dog, I highly suggest the 8 second ones, they are terrific for this short duration.
Otherwise, this works great and I can read the degrees easily and clearly. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought this 2 months ago and it's great! Very consistent and reliable. It has a blue backlight and beeps every 4 seconds during the 1 min. and lots of tiny beeps when it's done and has a memory. My only complaint was the beeping was a little loud, very easily fixed by putting a little piece of scotch tape on the back where the small hole is. That cut down the sounds by half, but enough where I can still hear it (which is important to make sure your in the right spot.) I love this thermometer!Customer Review: Don't Bother

I purchased this based on function, price and reviews. However, the thermometer I got was about .2 degrees off (readings would be .2 degrees higher than other digital thermometers and also the one at my Doctor's office.) It just quit working after about three months of almost-daily use. I thought the battery had gone dead, so I replaced it but thermometer still didn't work. BD's customer service did not only act like they didn't care, they offered absolutely no help. I wouldn't buy again.Customer Review: Great thermometer!

I don't have much comparison experience as this was the first and only thermometer that I purchased. I enjoy that it keeps the last temperature taken so I don't have to write it down as soon as I take my temperature (as I am usually mostly asleep and not quite coherent). I don't mind the beeping as it notifies me in my groggy mental state that the thermometer is actually working. Also included is a nifty chart for recording your temperature and other goodies.
