Customer Reviews of Bausch & Lomb Pre-Moistened Lens Cleaning Tissues, Box Of 100 - Packaging May VaryCustomer Review: all right by me !!! Summary: 5 Stars
These pre-moistened lens cleaning tissues by Bausch & Lomb are a huge improvement over using tissues or even a soft cloth with my glasses already dipped in water to clean the lenses. I never used to worry much about this, but I do now that I recently needed more powerful prescription eyeglasses that wound up costing me a bundle. I want to make my glasses last long because they cost me so much; I don't need the lenses to get scratched. Consequently I tried these lens cleaning tissues by Bausch & Lomb--and now I'll be a customer for life!
First, try to gently blow away any loose dust that there might be on each lens; then use the cleaning tissue. I agree with another reviewer who writes that to avoid getting your glasses smeared (and to get the best results overall) you definitely should use the two sides of the wipe--one side of the lens cleaner tissue for each individual lens. If you do it that way, your glasses should be OK without any problems. These wipes leave my glasses quite clean; I can tell they're cleaner when I put my glasses back on; I can just plain see better. In addition, the individual packets are pretty small so you can carry a few when traveling; that's very convenient.
If you wear glasses, try this brand. (And no, I'm not affiliated with Bausch & Lomb.) There are other brands of lens cleaning tissues or wipes out there but since this is the first brand I tried and they do work so well, I have no interest in trying another brand of lens cleaning tissues.
Customer Review: Can't live without it... Summary: 5 Stars
When I first started wearing glasses a couple of years ago, I was unable to find a cleaner that would clean my lenses. Everything that I tried would smudge my lenses. Then I tried these cleaning tissues and fell in love with them.. They clean great but the secret is, when you remove a wet tissue from it's pouch open it up completely and wave it a couple of times from left to right. This is because when you first take the wet tissue out, it's pretty wet, and it'll leave spots on your lenses, it's that wet! If you do that and then clean your lenses, you'll realize that they do a great job.. The best thing is that I can carry them in my purse. I feel very uncomfortable when I have spots of dust or finger prints on my lenses. These tissues are the biggest saver for me. I finish one box, which has 100 pouches in one or one and a half month. But I'm an OCD about cleaning so I think for a normal person, it would last 2-3 months..
Customer Review: These towletes are 5" X 8", use all of it both sides. Summary: 5 Stars
Let's face it, nothing beats soap and warm water for cleaning your glasses. Soap them up thoroughly then rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a paper towel, do not wipe. The problem is that most of us can't carry the kitchen sink around with us, so what to do when we are out and have smudged lenses?
The answer is, use a Bausch & Lomb Pre Moistened Lens Tissue. But, just as there is a trick to using soap and water, there is a trick to using these towels without leaving smears. Use all 5 X 8 inches of it on one lens then flip it over and use all 5 X 8 inches of the other side on the second lens. If you just keep using the same spot on the towels you pick up the dirt and oil with the first wipe and put it back on with the second. Once you have learned to use these properly you may forgo the kitchen sink when even when you are near it.
Customer Review: These get the job done! Much better than the Zeiss wipes Summary: 5 Stars
These are great, they clean without streaking, unlike the Zeiss wipes. Don't waste your time or money on Zeiss brand or any other although I have only tried the Zeiss and these. Point is, these work, not so sure about other brands aside from the Zeiss, but the Bausch & Lomb wipes work without streaking. I have experienced some very minor streaking which is barely noticeable, far from the Zeiss brand. I've found if I just use the corner of the wipe on smaller surfaces such as my small sized glasses, and lightly polish until dry, no streaks. Then quickly use the rest of the tissue on other items such as another pair of glasses, camera lens, or whatever, then I'm good to go. On bigger surface areas, such as my wide angle camera lenses or Raybans, I can use more of the tissue without streaking.
Customer Review: Best cheap non-scratch wipes Summary: 5 Stars
Its extremely hard to find wipes that won't scratch or otherwise damage expensive glasses or camera lenses or even monitors. The tissues are made of a microfiber paper, and soaked with basically diluted isopropyl alcohol with additional non-abrasive additives.
They're also large enough to get the job done. One packet is enough to thoroughly clean one pair of glasses (both lenses, front and back), and is more than enough for a large professional camera lens.
One is also enough to clean smudges off a monitor if you don't feel like cleaning the whole thing, although I do not recommend trying to do a regular monitor cleaning with these: get a microfiber cloth and mix up a batch of half and half 90% isopropyl and distilled water if you want to do that.
