Have you seen the price of the national name brand of this type of product? When I started using the other product I know it wasn't that expensive. I also realize things you buy tend to get more expensive as years go by, but I feel the price not fair to the consumer. This product has a better price, and it is pretty much the same as the national brand. I don't know if it is just me, but I do need a bit more of it at times, maybe that is just how my body works. But I don't regret for one second buying this product. It has kept me from suffering when I eat foods that have a lot of potassium. I was taking potassium supplements and eating low sodium salt with potassium. Usually I am doubled over in pain from the gas this creates. But when I take Bean-zyme, I don't have this problem. I know this sounds like too much potassium, but I made sure it was carefully measured and didn't even come close to the amount recommended to not be exceeded. If you are like me, and want to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to be healthier, you might want to consider this product.Customer Review: As good as Beano for less

Often 1 tablet of either brand doesnt do it for certain foods. 2 usually helps a great deal.
I wish they offered a bigger discount for buying in quantity.
For those buying 1 bottle, shipping is 26 cents cheaper at that auction site that rymes with Flea. (same price)
Edit. They no longer sell it on fleabay but I think buying it direct from their website might be a little cheaper
When I hit 40, I started having all kind of disgestive issues. Became lactose intolerant. Digestive Advantage solved that. (I cant drink milk or eat ice cream but everything else is fine)
I take a pro-biotic at least once a day and sometimes twice. That and taking fiber capsules has taken some weight off my midsection and I feel a whole lot less bloated all the time.
Throw in this generic beano when needed and its almost like I was young again. (Except when I forget to take something, then the issues come right back again !)
I hate getting old.

This enzyme is the same as Beano. Although the inactive/other ingredient's are a bit different. (just thought you may wonder) I chew these as directed, with the first bite of gas causing food. It tastes fine.
Now...let me tell you the REAL test! I have NOT been able to eat peanut butter for years, any amount! Well I am SO IMPRESSED with this enzyme product because I can have a PB & JELLY samich with my kids now! WooHoo!! Also!! I have NO gas or bloating with any thing else when I use these little chewable tabs!
I will add that since I have IBS I do still need to be careful with what I eat. Therefore, I also use digesting enzyme as well, with all meals not just that ones that may cause gas. I had used Beano for years but was bothered by it's high price. After reading Bean-zyme's positive reviews on Amazon, I tried it and have not looked back since. I've been using Bean-zyme now for about 8 months, five pills about two or three times a week, and am satisfied with the results (or should I say, lack of "results" :-). I will never again pay the high Beano prices.
Summary:
PROS:
1. It works just as well as Beano, I want to say better but I haven't done any testing to say for sure
2. Smaller pills than Beano so they go down easier
3. Cost much less than Beano
CONS:
(None that I can think of but I'll throw this one in just for kicks.)

I have been hospitalized with very rapid heartbeats. This condition plus an uncomfortable feeling in the area just below the breast bone and to the navel area caused a severe problem. As I would often burp after eating, I thought it could be related to digestion.I took Beano and then tried Bean-zyme. It was like a miracle. NO more extreme or rapid heartbeat to date. No more discomfort, though I still take heart medication. Eating caused gas which pressed against the heart. Bean-zyme eliminated the rapid heartbeat cause. Though I still have some skipped heart beats they have no relation to gas. I told my doctor about the wonderful relief as it could help someone with these same symptoms.
