Customer Reviews of Bean-zyme Anti-Gas Digestive Aid, 100 Veg Capsules, Food Enzyme Dietary Supplement, ONLY $1.56 Shipping per Bottle, Buy 5 Bottles SHIPPING IS FREE!Customer Review: This stuff is great. Summary: 5 Stars
I recently became a vegetarian and knew that I'd be needing bottles and bottles of beano in order to stay sane, but beano costs so much for so little in stores. So I looked it up on amazon, of course, and instead I was swayed to this- bean-zyme. Same ingredients, just different manufacturer and WAY less expensive. I'm now on my second bottle, needless to say it's powerfully potent. Maybe even more than beano! No vegetable, grain, fruit, or bean gets in the way of my digestive system, which is very sensitive to begin with. As long as I am a vegetarian, I'm never going back to beano! Bean-zyme is my anti-gas digestive enzyme of choice.
Customer Review: Helps; but not a slam dunk Summary: 3 Stars
Beanzyme ameliorates the gaseous effects of beans, but doesn't work very well with other foods, such as prunes and cabbage. Tastes okay; contains sorbitol, a natural sweetener. Does not contain wheat. Beano, a competing product with exactly the same active ingredient, does contain wheat according to the ingredients list on the bottle and according to a reaction I receive upon eating it. Consequently, Beano does not work as well as Beanzyme, at least for me. The wheat ingredient may not be an important factor for most people. Beanzyme is fairly effective, reducing bean related gas approximately 40-60%.
Customer Review: At least as good as bean-o, and chewable! Summary: 5 Stars
I eat 4 cups of (cooked) frozen mixed vegetables including corn, green beans, peas, and carrots nearly every evening. I find that 5 or 6 of these tablets does seem to limit the production of gas in my intestines. This product works as well, or better, than the more expensive bean-o, and they are chewable, which makes them a lot easier to gulp down discretely when eating out at a restaurant.
Last night we stopped to eat German food (Sauerbraten, spaetzel, cabbage, and beer) before a 3-hour James Taylor concert, and I didn't fart once all evening long!
Customer Review: Move over Beano. There's a new anti-flatulant n town! Summary: 5 Stars
In my opinion, Beano has gotten away with exorbitant pricing due to the dearth of competition. Well, thank goodness, we now can liberate ourselves from the Beano "monopoy"--or at least hegemony.
Beanzyme does everything Beano purports to, and more. It is reasonably priced, effective and comes before you can press BUY on your Checkout page (OK, just a little hyperbole on the last one). As a vegeterian, I carry it wherever I go; itmakes a difference in the quality of my life--as well as the air quality at my favorite falafel stand.
Customer Review: Works. Great product. Beware the sorbitol. Summary: 5 Stars
We've used this product for several years. Serve it at the table along with broccoli, beans, cabbage, etc., and it truly works. Agree that it works best if chewed before first bite of potentially offending food. However, if you are "allergic" to sorbital, and take too many Beanzyme at one time (upwards of 3, for example) you may experience very bad gas from the sorbitol. Clue: If you get gas from iceberg lettuce or no-sugar candies containing sorbital you may experience this problem.
