I'm a young adult, and I started noticing hair on my upper and lower lip when I was around 12. Initially I tried waxing, both professional and at-home, tweezing for 30 minutes a day (shudder), shaving with those little facial hair razors, and even hair removers like Nair. But no matter what I did, I always had the hair grow back enough so that within a week (or with shaving, a day) I had to repeat whatever process I used all over again. I found Bellabe because I looked up hair threading and decided that for $15 I was willing to give it a go.
The first time I used it, it hurt. It wasn't terrible at all but I didn't expect to feel it so much having waxed and tweezed almost daily for around two years prior. But I've since realized that it hurt because Bellabe was picking up ALL of the tiny little hairs that I couldn't grab with my tweezers. After using it I was amazed at how smooth and hair-free my face looked, the results were great for having used it once and for 10 minutes.
Since then, I've started using it every day for maintenance. The way my face is, if I skip a day or two the hair grows back no matter what (albeit lighter and not as quickly). I LOVE THIS THING! There is only a slight pinching when I use it now, but it still removes all of the hair.
Some things about the product: It says the Bellabe is good for a year or so, and that after that you should get a new one. But I had my old one for almost two years and it worked perfectly. Just make sure you don't clean it with alcohol, I did that with my old one at one point and it caused the thing to rust - it still worked perfectly but it was just rusted. I wasn't quite vigilant with cleaning mine, maybe doing it once a week if that, but I never broke out because of it. In fact, I could use Bellabe when I had a cold sore or pimple and it wouldn't affect it at all! Definitely don't try using this on your brows, though. It's just too big and not precise enough, it didn't even really pick up on the small hair in between my brows.
Overall, I am totally sold on this product. I haven't used other brands like Bellabe (Epicare, etc.) but I don't need to. It is such a simple concept but it is honestly better than I thought it would be. It did everything I hoped it would and more, and there are no negative effects on your face (lightening, scarring, pulling, etc.)! I have been using Bellabe for going on three years and I've never had a complaint. I am a customer for life!
