Customer Reviews of BioBrite Sunrise Clock Advanced Model with White Noise, PearlCustomer Review: Interesting concept Summary: 4 Stars
I live in the Pacific NW where the sun begins to set very early and rise very late during fall/winter/spring months. It's difficult to get up early for work and my moods have gotten worse during the changing seasons. I had it set for 60 min sunrise, and I wouldn't wake up to the biobrite, but my phone alarm was still set. I set it at the 90 min sunrise setting and i started waking up before my phone alarm would go off. It's much easier to get up when light is waking you up and not an annoying buzzer. It automatically turns off so I would recommend a back up alarm if you're a heavy sleeper or tend to hit snooze. It's helping with my mood swings due to the SAD I seem to have developed from moving to the NW. Overall I think it's a great product. I wish the snooze function would automatically turn the light back off, but you have to dim it by pressing the "-" button until it dims, so it's not a once touch thing. Haven't had any problems so far and the build quality seems to be pretty good.
Customer Review: Morning wake-up call is 100% better with this clock!!! Summary: 4 Stars
This sunrise-clock is GREAT! Alas, it loses a star due to its price (pretty expensive for an alarm clock!) But, even though it was expensive, I am very pleased with this product. I can't even begin to say how much better it is to wake up to a light-filled room than the piercing BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP screech of a traditional alarm clock jarring me out of sleep and practically giving me a heart attack every morning! Also, if you have problems getting yourself out of bed early when it is still very dark outside (winter time, northern climates, disrupted sleep patterns due to menopause, etc.) then this sunrise-clock is for you! I wish I would have gotten this sunrise clock for myself a lot sooner!
NOTE: As stated by another reviewer, the best place to get this product is directly from the Bio-Brite site--lower prices and lower shipping & handling costs, too.
(Also, I did not get the one with the white noise option, so I am unable to rate that particular feature.)
Customer Review: Triathlete Approved Summary: 5 Stars
Before buying this clock, I read all 40 reviews that existed on Amazon because I wanted to see if other people thought it was worth the money. $100+ is an extraordinary amount of cash for a clock, but I needed something to get me out of bed while it was still dark outside in order to get to the gym and to work earlier. I received the clock one week ago and read the instruction manual before attempting to use it. The manual explains the operation procedures clearly and concisely. The is not too difficult to use, and it does the job. I use the 30 min fade up feature and have consistently woken up 15 - 20 mins before the alarm is set to go off b/c of the light, even for a 5:30a wake time. I can't say this product will work for everyone. And yes, it is, as some people have said, a glorified light bulb in a glass cover, but this past week is the first time in well over a year when I have not shut off the alarm and reset it for a later wake up time so that I could catch some more zzzzzzzz.
Customer Review: easiest way to wake up Summary: 5 Stars
I got the alarm clock for my husband who as a difficult time waking up and used the old fashion beep beep alarm which he snoozed a dozen times before getting up. We've had the biobrite sunrise clock for about a month now and love it.
I consistently wake up refreshed before the alarm actually goes off as my body is slowly waking up with the light coming on. The shorter light cycle would work for me, but my husband needs a bit more time, so we put it on his side of the bed and it works great for both of us.
When the alarm comes on, it does so progressively, which I like. The design doesn't look bad in our bedroom and there is really no better way to wake up on days you need an alarm clock. I've used the white noise function a few times and while I rather like silence it's not bad at all and has helped our daughter go to sleep when used with the sunset function.
Works well as a reading light too.
It is well worth the hefty price tag.
Customer Review: Buying my second one Summary: 4 Stars
Like a lot of people on here, I bought this clock 10-plus years ago, when I first moved to NYC and loved it. In NYC it can get really dark in the winter, esp in a small apartment, and it gets increasingly harder to wake up in the mornings.
With this clock, I'd actually wake up BEFORE the sound alarm went off and trust me, it's a much nicer way to wake up than some loud noise blaring into a pitch black room!
A few months ago, the buttons broke, after reading these reviews, maybe I should have tried getting the company to fix it, but I was moving, so I just let it go. And now winter is coming again and I'm buying another one! Can't wait to start waking up to a nice warm light again...instead of that darn blaring alarm. I'm sure my neighbors will be happy as well!
P.S. I was easily able to replace the bulb, I just brought the old one with me to a hardware store and found one that matched and it worked fine.
