I was introduced to Biofreeze by a licensed Chiropractor who was doing a series of therapeutic massage treatments on my back and shoulders. At the end of the treatment, if the muscles had been particularly tight before she worked them out, she applied BIOFREEZE. It really reduced and most times eliminated the sore muscle symptoms that frequently follow strenuous work-outs. My 83-year-old Mother uses it also, and has good luck using it on an arthritic thumb just prior to bowling. (Yes, she still bowls at 83!)
This specific product has benefits compared to similar pain relievers in that the scent, which is not unpleasant to begin with, fades literally within one minute. No lingering odor that lets others know you have used it! Also, I have sensitive skin that reacts to adhesives, so other products in patch form might cause irritation, but BIOFREEZE has been no problem. The gel and roll-on are equally effective, but I am partial to the roll-on, as it applies easily and there is no contact with my hands, so less need to wash up afterward - great if you are using it away from home and have no washroom facilities nearby.

I have Fibromyalgia, and I use Biofreeze on my body to relieve soreness. I used to use the spray but found it ineffective and short lived. The Roll-on is small and easy to hold/open. It seems to last longer than the spray and it dries pretty quickly. They claim Biofreeze is unscented, but it leaves a minty smell on your skin. Not really that bothersome though. If you get it on your hands, wash it off before touching anything...and keep it away from the mouth and nose (especially the spray stuff) it burns because it's really cold.
Of the BioFreeze products, the order of effectiveness is as follows: 1. Gel (good for long term relief, but messy) 2. Roll-On (still stays for a long time, and roll-on means you put it where you want to) 3. Spray (feels good short term, but most of the spray ends up in the air).
Nonetheless, if you're looking for a product to relieve pain, use BioFreeze. I've tried it all and nothing works better than this stuff!

First off, Biofreeze works very nicely. I play hockey three times a week and get sore muscles and joints now that I am older. I was looking for something other than bengay or any of the other creams. Biofreeze was able to help with these pains and even cure a pulled groin. I bought both the spray and the roll-on gel. Here is what I think about each - remember - the stuff itself works I am just talking about the different dispensers now.
Roll-on Gel:
Does heat up but the spray seems to get hotter. The gel bottle needs to be shaken a few times to get the stuff on the roller ball to dispense. The smell isn't as potent.
Spray:
Heats up more. Goes on easy but smells a lot stronger and smell last a lot longer. The spray goes on nicely and evenly.
Overall I prefer the spray but Biofreeze is a winner! So, no matter how you choose you will be in great shape with this product.

Well after reading all the positive reviews I thought I would give the roll on a try. I have a back that goes out now and then and usually do some topical cream or spray (the big names mostly) and get that nice warm feeling or in some cases a real cool sensation. With the Biofreeze roll on I could feel next to no change. I thought maybe I didn't shake it enough but after retrying it... No difference. I wanted it to be the best thing since sliced bread but it did almost nothing for me. I must be in the minority here since most everyone else likes it. I would suggest for someone looking to try it for the first time, just get one bottle, or tube because it may not be for you. Your mileage may vary.Customer Review: Nothing Better

I have tried so many different rubs....creams, lotions. But Bio-Freeze is different. It DOES work. Highly recommended by physical therapist...and chiropractors. I couldn't find it anywhere. First, my husband had had a hip replacement. The therapy was hard, but Bio=Freeze was a great help at that hard time. Then, when we needed it....I could only find it here, so I bought three bottles of the roll on. That was several years ago....AGAIN, now I needed it. And coming so close to using the last of it up...I ordered three more. They came just in time......It is so good to keep this handy....for whenever you need it.I don't plan to ever run out, long as they keep selling it. Try it once, and you'll see....
