We have tried our best to work with this product but have given up. As I mentioned in the title, it works sometimes (dishes have to be rinsed clean or it will not work, period) but almost half the times (no way to predict why) the powder just clumps up in the soap cup (we do not have hard water etc) and the whole dishwasher cycle is wasted. I do not think it is environmentally friendly if:
1. one has to waste a lot of water to clean the dishes before putting them in dishwasher
2. you have to run the dishwasher for the same load again (using Electrasol liquid/gel - which works great regardless!)
The company needs to do more research: "eco-friendly" is not only about the chemicals, or the lack thereof, in a product but also about the other resources (read carbon footprint) that are required to complete the job failed by this product!
