I typically use fabric softener in the wash... but do occasionally use sheets, the latter predominantly when I travel.
This product offers convenience, in that you do not have to remember to add it every time you wash...but if you are someone who takes the trouble to separate your wash and use products as appropriate, this is a very bad thing. For example, towels are less absorbent when fabric softener is used. Having this actually attached to the dryer does not afford the option of *NOT* using it sometimes.
I am also an allergy sufferer and so generally buy hypoallergenic products, which this is not. I personally HATE the smell. I prefer my clothes to smell clean, not perfumed (in any way). I imagine my son will hate this, and I will be removing it from the dryer in short order.
I would recommend this product only for people who don't bother with sorting, don't care about how long their clothing lasts, or what it smells like (or those who like the artificial perfumed smell). Myself, I prefer to choose when and on what I use various products. the convenience of this one is offset by the negatives for me.

I'm glad I had an opportunity to try this product because I probably wouldn't have purchased it in the stores.
I'm not fond of dryer sheets and have been using liquid fabric softener for a long time. Our washer is an economy model and doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser so I normally use the Bounce ball that releases the liquid fabric softener during the rinse cycle.
Honestly, I didn't expect to like this product, but it's a wonderful idea. I don't have to mess with filling the ball, removing the ball and keeping liquid softener on hand. My laundry comes out of the dryer soft, static free and smelling as fresh as it did using liquid.
Now I'm anxious for the refills be be available.
I'm pleasantly surprised. Thank you Amazon for letting me try this product!

I've been using this product for several months now and I'm surprised at how long the bars last.
I expected to replace them much more than I've had to.
Given how long it continues to work, it is probably saving me money as well as time.

This is a clever product. I tend to forget to throw the little fabric softener sheets into the dryer. When I do remember, I later have them in the basket with the clothes and have to discard it.
We already love Bounce so the scent is already familiar.
After staying with this until the bar ran out we concluded we'd go back to our regular product packaging (we use the sheets).
This just didn't achieve the same results.
Just make sure you follow the directions when you put the bar in the dryer and you should be fine. The drum needs to be clean, dry, dust free, and flat-ish where you stick the bar.
After that you just keep your eye on it and replace it when the active ingredient disappears!
Update: The product is gone and in the end, we decided to go back to the dryer softener we were using. This didn't perform as well, and didn't last very long. I guess if you don't want to trouble yourself with putting a fabric softener square into the dryer, this might work for you, but we missed our soft, fragrant clothes.

I like the idea of not having to put in a fabric softener sheet in my dryer everytime I use my dryer, but Iam not sure how I feel about having to stick something with adhesive in my dryer. It kind of forces you I think to keep having to order or buy replacement bars.
I tend to want to try different things, so I always seem to have 3 of each kind of item, whether it's fabric softener, or something else. It keeps things interesting, and it lets me see what I think actually does a better job.
I did use the Bounce Dryer Bar. It did make my clothes smell fresh, and worked great on static. To me, it was just like using their fabric softener sheets, but in a different form.
I will keep using it til it runs out, then decide if I want to buy a replacement. Where my washer and dryer are it's pretty self contained. I do keep all my laundry products in the same area, so I doubt I would forget to add fabric softener, but then once less thing to remember is a nice idea too, for those who would tend to forget.

Here's a tip, don't order this product with food items because any food will take on the flavor of this Outdoor Fresh stuff if it's in the same box.
The scent is strong, and I don't particularly care for it, it smells too much like... fabric softener. The scent stays strong on my clothes and doesn't mix well with whatever perfume I wear. It is a clean smell though.
Beyond that, this method of delivering fabric softener to clothes isn't all that much more convenient. It's very easy for me to throw a fabric softener sheet into my dryer, and I don't often forget to do it either. This dryer bar, however, was a PAIN to remove from the inside of my nice new dryer. The heat of my dryer causes the adhesive to be even stronger. If you decide you don't like having the dryer bar, you can't completely get rid of the adhesive. It bugs me that there's sticky stuff on the inside of my dryer now.
I'll keep using my sheets and liquid for fabric softener, and won't put a new dryer bar in my dryer.
