I love this shaver but haven't replaced the cutter or foil since I bought it several years ago. I'm kicking myself now for having dealt with the dull cutter for so long. I will certainly replace them at least every 18 months from now on. Well worth the price. It now takes less than half the time to shave and I don't expect to have to clean it as often - saving on the cleaning solution. The new foil design is pretty slick and seems to provide more efficient shaving when moving the foil around in various angles.Customer Review: Braun 7526 blade replacement

The new blade makes a shave as quick and close as when the shaver was new. My only concern is whether the blade will provide this performance for 18 months as suggested and some earlier blade replacements and the original blade did, or has my beard toughened as I have further matured since the previous blade only provided good performance for about 6 months. The blade that provided about 6 months of good performance was my third or fourth replacement, so at least you can tell the shaver itself has good longevity.Customer Review: Thin foil is fragile, but gives closer shave

Braun's foil is very fragile, but for a reason. The foil is very thin to give a closer shave. It's simply too thin to clean with a brush, even the one supplied with the shaver. My advice: Don't touch it with anything. Clean it with the automatic cleaner that comes with most of the shavers. If you're traveling light and don't have access to the cleaning apparatus, carefully remove the foil by the plastic sides, then tap it gently on a counter. I bought my husband a Braun 7680 (BRAUN 7680 Syncro Pro Shaving System with Clean & Charge Base) in 2004 and he's now on his 3rd replacement combo. Along with the Braun Clean & Renew Refills (3 Pack), it keeps his razor like new. Maybe it is my face. I have thick facial hair and it takes only 2 days to get real thick. The Braun Syncro blades do a good job of getting the hair close to the face. Unfortunately I still need to use a razor for that baby bottom feel. I don't mind using the electric and the razor together because I have less irritation using both. So all in all these blades do the job. They work perfectly for my dad who has finer facial hair than me. Thumbs up to Braun for they always make great products.
