I have used this product for years. I don't have a heavy beard, and sometimes I shave in the shower, so I usually don't clean my shaver with this product more than once or twice a week and it works fine. I can definitely feel the difference after my shaver has been cleaned using this product.
I agree that using this product is not inexpensive over time, but to me this is just a cost of maintenance (like periodically changing the oil in my car). Also, if my shaver has had heavy use without using this product (like when I go away on vacation for a week), I use a brush to clean out the shaver before using this product.

I recently bought the Braun Machine with autocleaning system and after my included refill was empty, I boutght this 3-Pack, wich has an excellent price and is very easy to replace. The results are just Excellent, exactly the same as the first refill (included with the machine), when the machine does the autocleaning, it feels like a brand new machine again.
I am very happy with this Braun machine. I must say that shaving with the machine is not as perfect as using my old Gillete Match3, but I use the machine for everytime I need to shave, except when I have a special ocassion and then I shave with a Match3.

I don't want to write a long review about this product I have owned electric razor's for about 11 years so I consider myself a pretty good judge of the product. The Pulsonic is actually the closest shave I have ever had from an electric razor. It even rivals the shave given by a blade. The cleaning cycle is quick and effective. I would easily give the product five stars if it were not so expensive. If you can afford it, and won't think twice about the price. Buy it and never look back. You won't be sorry. If you can buy a much cheaper product and get a fairly close shave. Give some thought to the price.Customer Review: How I use My clean and renew refills.

After Purchasing my Braun shaver I decided to buy 2 refills but do no own an activator. I clean my shaver by removing the screen and giving two quick bursts of Dust Off, while it is running. Dustoff Is something I used in my darkroom to remove dust from negatives. I then place the shaver head in a small plastic tray containing the solution for a few seconds while it is running. I use a tissue to dry the cutters and clean the screen by by dipping it in the cleaning solution. I clean the heads every 2 to 3 weeks. From November 2005 till August 2006 I have used just one of the refills. It works great.Customer Review: Braun Shaver Fluid Refills

OK, a scientific analysis of just what happens when you treat your shaver to an automatic cleaning & lubrication is not forthcoming, nor is it necessary. It's enough to say that if you do it, you will believe (as I do) that each shave with your Braun is like its first (except, perhaps, that it's better than your actual first electric shave because your face & beard have been broken in). The CCR Synchro Shaver System is compatible with my old Braun 8995 and my new 9500. It's a wonderfully clean & convenient way to keep you shaver in peak condition & to, literally, make each shave like the first.
