Customer Review: Best hair removal system I've ever owned

I purchased this item three years ago and have had no problems with it. I use it often, usually 5-10 minutes per day as quick hair removal, and have had no problems with it. I was expecting it to break down once the warranty went out, which is common with small appliances, but it's lasted.
I have noticed an increase in ingrown hairs, but it hasn't been that severe and I love how smooth my legs stay after using this product. Once you get used to the hairs being pulled out, it's not that painful, even in the underarm and bikini areas.

It's now 2011 and I'm still using this same item. I agree with everything I said about it earlier, but now even more so.
I still use it regularly, except not so often. This isn't due to the product breaking, it's because my hair doesn't grow as much as it used to. I can go at least a week now and not notice a huge difference in how hairly my legs are. I even recently went on vacation at a resort and hadn't "plucked" in over a week and didn't feel self-conscious about it at all.
If this one ever breaks, I'll get another one just like it (if they still make it by then.....)

This is the first epilator I've ever used. It comes with a 60 day warranty. Mine fell apart on the 60th day, the 4th time I used it (one of the massaging rollers fell off, the screw just came out.) This was on a Sunday, so I could not mail it in til the 61st day. I've been trying to get ahold of an actual person for Braun to ask if I can still mail in my epilator to be repaired (as this is the 61st day), but it appears getting an actual person instead of an automated message is impossible. The motor still works, but it is annoying that the roller came off.
Overall, I would say the epilator is painless. Now, it hurt like crazy the first time I used it - I think I could now handle getting tasered - but after the first time, the pain was far less. It doesn't even hurt to use it on the bikini line. (Again though, the first time is AWFUL and I did bleed.)
However, I am unimpressed by the hair removal. It takes a very long time, and despite going over the same spot over and over, there are still a lot of hairs left behind, so I always have to shave afterward anyway. I also get red dots from the epilator that have lasted for almost 24 hours.
I don't think the epilator was worth the money, it doesn't seem to do its job.

I use this product primarily on my underarms (though I use it on my legs sometimes too) and I'm so happy with the results! Before, I had to shave my underarms everyday and even when I did, it never looked completely clean. Now that I use this epilator, my underarms stay bare for longer and I only have to worry about them once every few weeks.
I will warn people that the first time you use it, it's a little more painful than you expect. (Only on my underarms, though, I could barely feel it on my legs) Also, I had slight bleeding the first time I used it, but it all went away very quickly. (Make sure you rub the area down with alcohol afterward!) The more you use it, the less painful it becomes and the nicer the area will look. (The redness goes away faster and faster each time) Just make sure you use this either over a sink or a garbage can or in the tub, because the hair goes pretty much everywhere.
I'm so glad I bought this because now my razor is pretty much obsolete and I don't feel so embarrassed lifting up my arms anymore. My only complaint is that I wish it removed more hair at one time because sometimes I have to run the epilator over the area many times before it removes all the hair.

I've never tried waxing or tweezing, and this is my first epilator. I bought this after extensive research and comparison of all the epilators out there. I chose this one because of the price and all the great reviews. This epilator is great; I was very apprehensive of the pain, but I barely felt it on my arms and legs (I tired using the massaging attachment but it was annoying so I ended up using it with neither of the attachments). It was painful on the armpits but it was bearable and I ended up getting used to it. The bikini line was a whole different story, I found it totally unbearable and gave up. I'm trying to build up the courage to try again. Anyways, the places that I did use it, the hair didn't come back for over two weeks, which is great. And when it did come back, it was very light and I could barely see it. Most reviews mentioned was the problem with ingrown hairs, I haven't gotten any so that isn't a problem for me. It's recommended that you take a hot shower before using the epilator, but it doesn't really make a difference for me. I generally shower after I use it; I feel cleaner that way.
Overall, this product is great and I would totally recommend buying it.

After all the reviews I've read, I decided to go for the Braun epilator. I've never had an epilator therefore all the idea i had was from the reviews. I got this today and was excited to try it out but the moment i turned it on, I was kind of intimidated by the loud noise, it was scary to me.. After an hour, I got over it and tried it on my legs. It wasn't that bad, I think the pain factor was exagerrated in the reviews.. So I decided to try it on my underarms (which a lot of people claim is more painful than the legs), it was not bad at all.. Pain was minimal to me...
This is not a miracle machine though, hair doesn't diasappear just like that, you have to go over the same area a couple of times and might have to try different strokes to get rid of unwanted hair... But overall, I still like it though coz it sure beats the time i would have spent on waxing or tweezing!
The shape and the weight of the product is perfect especially for the knee area, which is slightly curved...
I used to wax my underarms and legs so i guess the roots are weaker... I'm thinking that might be it.. plus my high tolerance for pain...
