Customer Reviews of Braun Series 3 370 Men's ShaverCustomer Review: Great shaver!! Highly Recommended!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second electric shaver I've bought in a couple months time. The first was a rotary, Remington R5130. After using it for a few weeks, I decided a rotary shaver was not for me. Then I thought I'd try a foil type shaver. I researched for a while and decided I'd try the Braun 370. This is a great shaver! When I first took it out the box, I could tell by the weight of it that it was a well built product.(Not too much plastic). That's why the Braun's are a bit higher in price than Remington, Norelco, etc. You get what you pay for folks! Anyway, the first time I used it I had no razor burn, unlike the Remington. I do have sensitive skin but this left no bumps at all. It gives a VERY close shave too, closer than with disposable razors in my opinion. It leaves my face nice & smooth. I've used disposable razors since I was 15 and I'm 35 now and will probably never go back. It does not get all the hairs with the first pass, but my hairs grow in all different directions so I have to make several passes to get them all. It does vibrate quite a bit, and that takes some getting used to. One reason I like this foil shaver over the rotary, is that with the foil type you can shave in straight lines, whereas with the rotary you have to go in circles. Another great thing I like about this shaver is that it's washable, so cleaning it is easy, quick and neat. There are no hairs on the sink after shaving with this, it catches them all. I LOVE THIS SHAVER!!
Customer Review: Shaving Private Ryan Summary: 4 Stars
I have a Braun razor that I've had for about 25 years or so. I found someone in Portland, OR to work on it, and had the battery, foil and cutting bar replaced (they're no longer available at retail outlets). It does a great job on my light beard, very close, no irritation, but is ineffective on longer hairs. Anything you miss for a day or two needs other work before the razor can cut it. Finally I dropped it on a tile floor in a hotel and it would only run when I squeezed it. I decided to break down and buy a new razor. I had used a triple head medium priced Phillips Norelco. It was quiet, and did super job of cutting longer hairs, but it didn't shave me nearly as close as my tired old Braun. It did a terrible and irritating job in my mustache area. So I ordered a Braun 370 from Amazon. I didn't want a model that required the bulky base station and cleaning solution. My beard is light and thin, but difficult to cut closely. The 370 actually cuts longer hairs better than my old braun and shaves about as closely as my old braun. It charges quickly and you can wash it out easily. Shaver ratings are very subjective because every guy's beard is a little different. What works great for one guy is a nightmare for another. Given that, I'm quite happy with razor. It shaves nice and close and comfortable. It's not as quiet as a Norelco, but quieter than my old one by a long ways! Smooth Shaving, mon.
Customer Review: Not exactly what I was expecting Summary: 3 Stars
Let me start off by saying, this is the first electric shaver I have ever owned. My method of shaving was to use the beard trimmer first, to shave down the hair. Unfortunately, the beard trimmer was pretty dull, and I basically had to scrape it across my face in order for it to trim anything. Next, I would used foil head to try and get as close a shave as possible. I noticed I was able to get a close shave on my face, but my deck was terribly difficult to shave, no matter how hard I stretched my skin or what angle I shaved out. The razor, for my liking did not shave close enough, and ultimately shaving became a lengthy process which too much left over stubble, and very irritated skin .
On the positive side, I found the battery life to be really high. Also, the manner in which the roil head can be removed made it extremely easy to clean.
I later switched back to a regular razor which I use several times a week. I still have held onto this gadget to give myself a trim between `razor blade' days. For my purpose it's good for trimming but not so much for a clean shave.
Overall, I would have given it a lower rating but I think a lot of the issuse experienced were due to my unusually thick facial hair and my inexperience with using an electric razor. I think they built a decent product, it's just not comfortable for myself in particular.
Customer Review: seems well built and powerful but... Summary: 2 Stars
I've always used a foil shaver because blade shaving leaves my skin a wreck. My really old Remington gives a pretty decent shave but can be a bit irritating so I decided it was time to upgrade. I've read loads of good things about Braun.
I've used this shaver for about 2 weeks now and can get a passable shave on my cheeks and moustache area, but as for the chin and neck that's a very different story. My chin has yet to get a close shave from this one, and the neck area is left with lots of stray whiskers which even the little pop up trimmer refuses to cut at all. I've tried all directions and circular motion, 'Lectric Shave, Remington Face Saver, and I just end up with razor burn and a badly shaven neck and chin. I should mention that if I didn't have to pay extra attention to these areas there would be next to no irritation. I guess I've always had a bit of trouble with the neck but the old Remington had a huge trimmer that would get them if nothing else would.
On the plus side, it seems relatively quiet compared to some others, has a bit of heft to it which I like, and the battery seems to last for 5-10 shaves. For the whiskers it does catch, it has plenty of power and doesn't get bogged down. Cleaning is easy too.
For someone who doesn't have troublesome neck hair this might be a good choice but it's just not working out for me.
Customer Review: so far ,so good Summary: 3 Stars
reviewing an electronic shaver just after getting it is really inappropriate. you have to use it for some months to see how good or bad it really is. when it's brand new, of course it's at the top of its game.everything works.so with this braun. guess what? it shaves your face and trims your moustache or vandyke, and sideburns, if you have them. the blades are all new and sharp so they work great. it charged right up and is still going strong.
Especially if you don't use it every day, like me.just don't drop it or you'll be sorry.and clean it with a brush
and put it away after every use. in other words, treat it like you would want someone to treat you. If you do, it should last until the blades wear out, but then you can buy a new one instead of new blades, since the motor or the trimmer or something will break.especially if you dropped it. if you want a really close shave, no electric razor works better than any cheap razor blade, when you soap up your face and soak your beard with a hot towel. electric shaves are hot and dry and leave your skin feeling bruised. so, use it but don't abuse it and don't expect too much, no matter how jazzed up your model is.
Sadly, the more you spent, the more you expect and the greater the let-down. Braun is about the best around, i would say and has a model for everyones budget and ego.
