Customer Reviews of Braun Series 3 370 Men's Shaver

Customer Review: It should last
Summary: 4 Stars

I didn't buy this razor; I got it through the ThankYou reward program from Citibank, but it was shipped direct from Amazon in a Amazon shipping box.
My previous razor was a 8 yr old Panasonic, needless to say it was time to replace it. After doing quit a bit of research, reading all the reviews, I settle on this model. First impression was that this razor is heavy, but feels balanced in my hand. And the color scheme is luxurious; it is painted pearl white, much like a luxury car's paint, very nice. The swivling head is also a nice touch, as it changes angle based on the contour of your face. The owner's manual recommend using it until the battery is dead with the first charge, which took me about a month to accomplish, in other words, the battery lasts a good while. Subsequent charges can take place at any time. You could also use it as a corded model, which is really the selling point for me. It means when the battery won't take charges anymore, I could still use it with the cord plugged in. The shave is close (for an Asian male with not much facial hair, though quite coarse), and the center blade helps cut longer stubbles (I often don't shave on weekends). The case that comes with this razor also reflects the quality of this product, though I would prefer a stand rather than a case.

Customer Review: Great Braun quality, performance
Summary: 5 Stars

The 3-370 (5737) shares the foil, cutter and centre head with several models. I've tried the expensive 360 but wasn't too sold on the cleaning solution and system when the less expensive models with the same, or similar, heads work just as well, if not better. The shaver comes with a nice case with a brush for cleaning and a small vial of oil for the head. The power plug is small and compact with a coil cord. Remember, all faces are different and shavers will perform differently on each person. Mine can be rough and there are lots of difficult areas but it's no problem with this type of head. The shaver body, head, and finish are top notch. The side burn trimmer cuts well but could be a little sharper. The motor is quiet. It shaves many times on a full charge. The body is ergo, easy to handle, and cleaning of the heads is quick and simple. I can recommend Remington's shaver saver spray. It lubes and sharpens nicely and can be applied once to twice a week. If you have hard water or sodium softened water, cleaning under the tap should avoided. Sediment can build up on the parts and be very hard to clean plus can be damaging to the heads.

Pros: Shaves close and fast.
Cons: A little expensive, side burn trimmer could be sharper. Little else.
Bottom line: Good buy, good unit.

Customer Review: Braun Series 3
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this as a gift for my son who's beard is stiffening up now that he getting older. The Remington microscreen shaver he was using wasn't cutting it. He loves it. His first comment was on how smooth his face is after a shave.
I have been using a 5XXX series shaver myself for 7 years and am on my second set of batteries (cost me $22) so I know that the design is true and will last. The design is good, the fact that it can be used plugged in or on battery is a bonus surprisingly not found on every lower price shaver (yes this really is a lower price shaver compared to the Braun line). One great thing is that it can be washed out under hot water (turn it on when washing it out) after each shave and this is all that is necessary to keep the heads cleaned out and cutting well. You do NOT have to remove the screen and brush out except perhaps every month or so (unless perhaps you have a VERY heavy beard). I would NOT buy the Braun with the table top cleaning basin because it really isn't necessary when just rinsing works out so well and it adds significantly to the price of the razor. Replace the cutting foil and blade annually (about $25). I have used many razor types and brands over the last 40 years and like this Braun the best.

Customer Review: Review of Seller, Not Item
Summary: 3 Stars

PLEASE NOTE: This is a note about WorldWide Distributors, not a review of the product itself. As they appear to be the only sellers of this item, I wanted potential buyers to know what they're getting.

If you buy a Braun 3 370 from this seller, you will most likely get the Braun 5885, as I did. I contacted the seller, as the photo in the listing clearly shows the model number as 3 370. He referred me to the fine print in this listing that says the model number is actually 5885.

I downloaded both manuals for the out-of-production 3 370 and 5885 from Braun's website and they do appear to be identical. They were probably labeled differently for sale in different areas. Rather than deal with the hassle of returning the item - which I was tempted to do only because I find this situation more than a little skeevy - we're keeping the unit.

SAVE YOURSELF $3 by buying from the other distributor (Big Value Inc) selling it as the 5885. Braun 5885 Contour Series Rechargeable Foil Shaver.

ETA: My husband is very happy with the shaver itself.

Customer Review: Worst Braun Razor Ever Made
Summary: 1 Stars

This razor...will be the first thing...to piss you off in the day. Youll wake up, take a nice shower, and then spend 15 minutes plucking hairs with this razor.

I've loved Brauns my entire life. And have had many of them. This one is absolute crap. The fact that Im up at 1:48am and considering wake up and having to shave with this piece of crap again...is amazing.

The foil razor...is 3/10. It does shave after going over your face 30-40 times. Slight razor burn is an after effect. The shave isn't close enough to look like you've shaved the same day.

The pull out razor, breaks after 3-4 month. A little metal piece inside slips down. It really doesnt matter though, the front razor doesnt work anyways. 0/10.

This Braun absolutely was made as cheapily as possible by Gillete. The motor is small, it gets hot, the razors don't cut, and the blade in the front breaks. Avoid this BRAUN at all cost. Read reviews before purchasing any razor. I no longer trust Braun to make a decent product.
