This is the second one that I have purchased (one for grandparents house and one for our house). When I check my son's temp usually I check it and then wait about 30 mins or so depending on the situation. Well today he ha been running a very high temp so I checked his temp back to back and got drastic results! I kept checking and it kept changing! This was from me checking back to back! My doctor's office actually recommended this thermometer, so maybe I this one is defective, but I am extremely upset! I need to monitor histemp and I don't even know what his temp is!Customer Review: Never worked right

We received this item as a gift and it has never worked correctly. From the start it kept saying "low battery". The batteries are very diffictult to change out and the ear piece never fit in my preemie daughter's ear. We use a different ear thermometer that is so easy my daughter (now two) can even work herself! I would not recommend this product to anyone!! It has been a piece of junk from the start and no end of frustration and money with the lithium batteries!!Customer Review: works fine, as long as you don't depend on it

Yeah, so after I get it, I find out it's good for monitoring a feverto see if it's getting better or worse, but not so great for getting a baseline temp. I've shot this lazer beam thermometer into my childs ear 3 times in a row and gotten 3 different results. Now, if it's that touchy, then i'm going to say its probably not a good thing for your average user... I just want to know my kids temp... sheesh... back to the $6 Rite Aid brand in the mouth for me.Customer Review: Happy Mom

I almost didn't buy an ear thermometer because my Pediatrician will only accept an rectal temp but my kids are too squirmy for that - even when they are sick. However, every time I have taken a rectal temp the temperature has matched the ear temp exactly. In the middle of the night, when my daughter is crying so hard that she can't talk - it is a life saver. I know within 3 seconds if I am dealing with a suprise fever or a just a bad dream.Customer Review: Nice product.

Well designed, works well on my 4-year old daughter. Very quick & accurate; good feedback (via blinking LED) on whether you have it positioned correctly or not. Some reviewers have complained about varying temperatures when repeating the same measurement, but in my experience the repeatability is very good; less than a degree of variance. That is not a problem at all.
Takes AA batteries, another point in its favor.
