I purchased one of these, a bit wary after reading some of the reviews; being a cereal lover, I had to give it a try though. I have had many mishaps with other "watertight" seals- ending up with nasty spills, warm milk, and other messes in an attempt to take my cereal with me.
This worked out great! The ice ring kept the milk cold, my fruit fresh, and the set up kept everything in place- no spills! The spoon does lock, you just open it, and push the two parts together when they are straight. Works like a charm!
To avoid issues, I freeze the entire contraption in the freezer. This helps it to keep it's shape beautifully, and ensures the pieces will fit with ease. My only warning is to be careful as this is a hard plastic and can break easily when frozen. I learned this the hard way, but am quite willing to get another because this one con outweighs the benefits!
