I was able to get this device to warn me about my alcohol consumption after drinking appropriate amounts of Merlot and using the Analyzer immediately after consumption. It may be excellent and precise for it intended primary use. The combination clock / alarm, however, never showed any signs of life. Since I paid less for this gadget than I would have paid for the version without an embedded clock/alarm, I am not inclined to make any complaints.
I used this device as a toy for my own amusement. A sensible policy for monitoring excessive drinking would not rely upon this device for compliance with applicable laws. The best way to avoid getting nailed for drinking is not to drink in public places and not to drive within 24 hours of drinking. Failing that, this device may prevent you from doing something really stupid.

Hmm, this might have value if you're going to use the watch function, but I found it worthless when using the blood alcohol function. If I took a shot and breathed into it, it would register something. After having a mixed cocktail wit 1.5 shots of gin or vodka it would register 0.0. The poorly translated paper/instruction sheet states it takes some time for this to begin to work after openning the box, and indeed it registered nothing for the first couple of days of use. After two days I eventually got the results previously described. I guess you get what you pay for.Customer Review: BASICALLY WORTHLESS

I purchased 5 of the units for Christmas gifts and 1 for myself. I didnt expect the unit to be perfect, but the tester either reads 0.00 or .19 maxed out. This reading could be from a sip of mouthwash or a breathmint also. The tester is nothing more than a gag gift or novelty item and in no way would be of any assitance in determining a BAC for anyone. It is not even that nice of a gag gift.. I reccomend spending alitte more money and going for another unit that actually might be useful for its intended purpose.Customer Review: Fun gadget!

Used this the other day when a bunch of friends and I went out drinking with a DD. We took turns passing it around after each drink. I was on beer #4 and I blew a .04. Then, on beer #7, I blew a .01? Then eventually I blew a .00? I would never use this to judge if anyone is safe to drive, but for $8, it'd be fun to pass around at a party.Customer Review: Completely worthless...don't waste your money

This product does not work... drank one beer and then one hour later tested the breathalyzer. It registered a .19 (the maximum that the product goes up to). So apparently drinking one beer puts you at 2 times the legal drinking limit one hour later??? I've tested it a few different times and get the same result. Don't waste your money.
