I found this product when faced with "crackly" ears (my family blessed me with narrow eustachian tubes) once again a few Januarys ago. Usually, that ends up leading to a bad head cold, which includes a trip or two to a doctor plus a prescription or two of something I'd rather not take and which sometimes doesn't even work. I was fed up with that route and the expense and misery involved, so I checked online to see what SCUBA divers take for stuffy ears. I found that many of them take bromelain (a protein-digesting enzyme found in pineapple). A guy at our local health food store recommended this brand. I've been taking it off and on ever since. I take it at the first sign of crackling in my ears or when my nose feels more congested in the morning than usual. The situation usually resolves in a day or two, sometimes more during allergy season or if I'm outdoors more. I didn't get one cold this past year!

Sinus cavities are lined with delicate mucous membranes, which act as filters for your respiratory system. When attacked by allergies, pollutants, viruses or bacteria, they respond by becoming swollen and inflamed. This synergistically works to reduce sinus pain and the body's natural inflammatory response. It contains bromelain, which helps inhibit the formation of prostaglandins that trigger the inflammatory response, quercetin (a potent bioflavonoid found in many plants; Nature's Life gets theirs from the pod of a tropical tree of the Dimorphandra species), which reduces the inflammatory response by inhibiting release of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes, and Vitamin C (calcium ascorbate), which has mild antihistamine activity.
